I normally adopt doctor approach Although patient hardly knows about disease still doctor try to communicate with patient in laymans term. Similarly, the same approach could be adopted even in structural field, explaining client with examples and story based approach always help. Afterall client are well aware of your intentions through your communication that is most important.

Since, not all Clients understand the details of structural analysis with its challenges, it is best you involve the client in the process (from day one) by using sketches and graphics to make him/her feel part of the design team; this strategy will make you have open and transparent talk on the challenges as they pop up and the timeline it may affect. This will make the client feel satisfied in the end
