One of the best tools in a Field Service Engineers toolbox is the ability to say no. There comes a point when oversaturation occurs, and rather than gettting the best from an engineer their perfomance declines. Before it gets to this point, we should learn to say no and keep a healthy work/life balance. If your management do not understand and cannot see what is happening then they are the problem.

Field service tasks are very unpredictable, I've seen multiple service requests in month where the service team has to strech a lot. I do the following , to keep the teams morale high 1. Being flexible with the work time 2. Going for a short team outing after some hectic calls 3. Showing empathy to the team.
