In my experience, it is important to show your coworker that you will be there and will provide the necessary support for the change process. Try to understand their concerns and suggest possible options to address them. And together understand the reasons why the changes are happening and what the expected benefits are.

To support a coworker resistant to change, start by actively listening to their concerns and acknowledging their feelings. Show empathy and understanding, as resistance often stems from uncertainty. Highlight the benefits of the change and how it can positively impact their work. Offer to assist them in navigating new processes, sharing tips or training resources that can ease the transition. Encourage small, manageable steps rather than overwhelming them with everything at once. Keep communication open, providing reassurance and being patient as they adjust. This collaborative and supportive approach can help build their confidence and foster a more adaptable mindset.
