No one is an island of knowledge! It is necessary to reach out and seek assistance whenever it is required. When a project gets complex more than expected, in my opinion something must be amiss. It is not the project that gets complex, it is that the right expertise for the project hasn't been engaged yet. I understand that some projects could be tasking but with the right expertise, resources and planning the projects would be accomplished. Do not hesitate to seek for the right expertise to get your project completed if you need one as a structural engineer.

Out of many items that could be simplified to make a project less complex, simplifying structural framing is important to help define clear vertical and horizontal load paths. Knock off "albatross" on the project, keep your designs simple and elegant!
