The comments below illustrate elements of typical problem solving, but good or great problem solving is an application of scientific method. A manufacturing process without effective use of statistical process control and problem solving is doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over. Things like 5-why in Root Cause Analysis are essential tools, but there are several more needed to prevent problems from ever coming back. A methodical approach like The Eight Disciplines of Problem Solving is a requirement. Hire good process engineers who understand QM continuous improvement problem solving. Demand evidence critical thinking.

O Just-In-Time é útil para indústrias com produções seriadas e planejadas, como a automobilística. Para os explosivos, segmento em que trabalho, a alternância do volume de produtos é grande e também a variação do tipo de explosivos a se produzir altera bastante, portanto o sistema JIT não funciona bem. Para corrigir os atrasos, dou foco nos gargalos produtivos e quando possível, conto com a mão de obra de outros setores e reforço a equipe que necessita ganhos produtivos.
