Cutting costs for cost cutting sake, is not always the best way to go about trimming operations. I always start by doing an assessment of the area being focused on, once I have the data I need, I then focus on the service providers and the staff involved, to see if there is a way to make the operation leaner, without, affecting the service being provided, different maintenance methods also use more funds in a budget than other methods, see if the method chosen is the right one, it might be that you need to change it and as such, will help trim the budget.

Cost cutting process can be implemented on more than 1 axis: 1- Manning, upon studying operations requirement minimize manning to the actual requirements of manning and shifts attendance with respecting overtime and extra works expenses to be adjusted as well. some of work planning will adjust it . 2- Suppliers expenses, analysis of visits and their costs in comparison to the actual adding value may be decreased. 3- bulking supplying, procurement process may have less cost deals by bulking requirements. 4- Spare parts stock and earlier deals have great impact to avoid inflations and items availability as well. 5- there is more but you got bored :)
