One way to avoid problems with lack of supply is to have good inventory accuracy. In this sense, technology can help, some inventory management systems as long as they are well stocked, with quality information (I am referring to control of outputs, inputs, updated resupply times, well-parameterized safety stocks, instructions from suppliers and instruments for assemblies thought in advance) will be the key to having the necessary occurrence time so as not to have an impact on the end customer. Some examples are ClickUp, Odoo Inventory, ZOHO, GSE-WEB, Order time, DATASUL, Protheus, among many others. There are advances available, just the investment!

Not sure if customs permits and paper work can be technology streamline to reduce delivery time. In many situations are the principal reason of late delivery to customers. Improving in process steps by the usage of automation is a way to go, however, based on my experience if product is well design and is manufacturable at large scale you don't kneed to much technology to make it work.
