Ser ingeniero es un "must", pero más allá del título, debes tener un interés innato a resolver inconvenientes, un desinterés a ensuciarte en el trabajo y capacidad de análisis para siempre encontrar la causa raíz o definir el problema, si defines el problema, ya tienes el 50% del trabajo hecho. Obviously you need to be an engineer, but beyond the title, you must have the desire to solve problems, not having problems with "getting dirty" and have analysis capacity to find always the root cause, if you are able to define the problem, you have the 50% of the job done.

Indeed having an engineering background is absolutely recommended to grasp the task requirements and perform the job. However there are also other aspects that could be really helpful to have that will help to progress much quicker later on such as project management.

Your eyes are your best tool, the main hability that you must to focus on, is the attention to detail, in my experience the most difficult problems are solved with the more basic solutions (as example, I was repairing a machine that was completely crazy, the cause was only a sensor that was desconecting time to time and making an electrical short).

Skill development is important, but I believe it will come with time. Especially for an entry-level engineer, i would recommend to focus on understanding the technology and concepts they have to work on and master it. The rest will develop itself naturally as long as the person remain curious and willing to learn.

My focus in my job is that behind every machine, is a human being, is really important to strenghten your comunication skills, learn to read the body language, having conversation topics to break the ice is important, once you connect with the operator, you create an authentical team work that is 100% succesfull!

El CV debe tener un perfil profesional breve, claro y conciso en cuanto a las habilidades profesionales que tienes para el cargo, es muy importante colocar tus funciones y logros en tus trabajos anteriores. The CV should have a brief, clear and concise professional profile regarding the professional skills you have for the position you are applying for. It is very important to place your functions and achievements in your previous jobs.

Prepararse para la entrevista es importante y muchos dirán diferentes cosas al respecto, mi consejo siempre es ser auténtico desde un punto de vista profesional, no es pecado no saber algunos conceptos ni tener al 100% todas las habilidades para el cargo, mientras tengas la actitud y voluntad para aprender y tienes esa hambre de conocimiento y de devorarte el mundo, pesa mucho más que cualquier concepto técnico. My advice is only being authentic from a professional point of view, it is not a sin not to know some concepts or not have all the skills for the position, as long as you have the attitude, if you have the will to learn and you have that hunger for knowledge and to devour the world, weighs much more than any technical concept.

Even before courses, I believe the job itself offers a great opportunity to keep on learning. Within the role there are multiple challenges that are faced across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, automation,…) and within them the chance to learn new concepts or tools. I would recommend to take extra time each time to dig further than it is required to really understand them. There are usually expert around within the company that could be willing to take some time to explain them or having look online for extra help as well.
