Get rid of useless time wasting activities. As a manager, face timing with your team is far better than at asking them for slides or extra meetings. Make sure the team knows what to do and don't let them get sidetracked by outside "well wishers". This is, of course, if you are not sure how these delays occurred in the first place i.e. unreal expectations, promising the world, moving goal posts, budget cutting.....
