In my experience as a leader, "a transformational leader" to be precise. One thing I found instrumental is self-reflection. If there is a respect crisis, it perhaps might stem from your failed promises, poor boundaries, and many more factors you may never know until you self-reflect. My advice in this case is to do a self-reflection, after which you can have open communication with your team. Mind you, leadership is not "to please" but "to influence" hence do not trade respect for comfort. Your team members may not be loyal to you, but at least they will still comply with your directives.
