Our core priorities and where we can make the greatest impact.
In order to build a company that's around for generations, we must do our part for the planet.
Our north star is to reach net-zero carbon by 2040. In October 2022, we submitted our science-based targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and we are proud that our targets have now been validated. With this validation, we join just over 300 companies that have boldly committed to reaching net-zero by 2040.
We are focused on meeting our targets and reaching net-zero by making our buildings sustainable, reducing business travel emissions and working with our suppliers to achieve a low-carbon economy.
We care deeply about building connections, careers, and community by creating a workplace that values inclusion, and gives back to where we work and live.
We publish our workforce diversity data annually in our Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging Report, which reflects on our progress and identifies opportunities where we can improve. Recognizing that the way people built connections pre-pandemic has changed, we are also focused on operationalizing and driving progress on our Connect4 strategy to build remarkable hybrid connections.
While employee volunteering is at the heart of our social impact efforts, we also support our communities through other program initiatives, including fundraising campaigns and flagship events.
At HubSpot, we’re serious about doing the right thing. That’s why our approach to sustainable governance is rooted in transparency, mutual respect, and trust. We have a high bar for business conduct because our commitment to the highest standards helps us solve for our customers, hire great people, and build innovative products.
By investing in data privacy, promoting ethical behavior, and building a board that’s as diverse as our customer base, we aim to build trust with the people we serve.
As a hybrid company, our emissions occur not just in our offices and our server space, but anywhere our employees work. We're committed to giving HubSpotters the tools they need to build knowledge and expertise, while gaining an accurate picture of our emissions reporting. Whether you're a small business owner, a sustainability champion at your company, or an individual who wants to make a difference, we hope these resources inspire you.
At HubSpot, we used the data to more accurately calculate and report our emissions and also identify areas of support we could offer to employees to help them reduce their impact.

Loved getting to review and provide some answers on CareerVillage during HubSpot's Global Micro Volunteering Day. I had looked for something like this when I was navigating the post-school/career search life. And tonight I got a note from one of the people I provided some insight for. It felt super awesome!

With thousands of attendees converging at INBOUND each year, it's essential to prioritize sustainability throughout all aspects of the event. Beyond fundamental practices such as recycling, composting, and reusing materials annually, we also offer resources for attendees to offset their carbon footprints, commit to partnering with local vendors wherever possible, and select venues distinguished for their robust sustainability initiatives.

I take action through mentorship programs such as First Gens in Tech and Women in tech. This mentorship experience has enabled me to be a thoughtful leader at HubSpot. Thoughtful leaders allow you to feel that you belong. I can't think of a greater gift to share with someone than the feeling that they are in the right place at the right time, appreciated and welcomed, and capable and up to the task at hand. Thoughtful leaders convey this in each interaction, and they inspire excellence in a sustainable way that allows teams to flourish.

We installed 15 solar panels on the roof of the house, for a 6kWp system. Working from home means I can use the energy that’s produced during the day, and send any excess to my electric vehicle battery.

HubSpotters play a huge role in sustainability and joining our employee groups is a fantastic way to be part of the conversation and contribute to our efforts. One of these groups is Eco@HubSpot, which was founded in 2018 by some of our employees in Dublin to support local sustainability projects. It has since expanded to almost 1,500 members across the globe and is one of our most active employee interest resource groups.
Another way for empoyees to get involved is through volunteering. HubSpotters are passionate people and it’s important that we help them grow better while harnessing their collective passion to invest in the communities that need it most. Through our dedicated employee volunteering platform, HubSpotters have eight hours in company time annually to give back to the causes and communities they care about. We also support our communities at a company level through other program initiatives — including fundraising campaigns and flagship events.

Yes. Early in 2021, we worked to identify key opportunities that are material and important to both internal and external stakeholders. The assessment results were reviewed in conjunction with HubSpot’s overall business strategy to identify three areas we’ll continue to focus on:
We are evaluating each of these areas and gathering additional insights to inform our go forward strategy for setting relevant targets and/or commitments.
