Hello Berlin!   Berlin is becoming a special place for us.   Last September, we kicked off the ATechX accelerator program in Berlin and are thrilled that Reavant is one of the six startups in their inaugural cohort.   We spent two inspiring days filled with presentations and introductions with the Aroundtown team and VCs, collaboratively setting milestones for the next four months towards creating innovative AI-solutions for the Commercial Real Estate Industry.   Just last week, we returned to Berlin to present our first milestone: extracting data fields from a small batch of complex contracts and addenda with an accuracy exceeding 90%!   Up next? Tackling a larger batch of contracts with over 200 fields which captures the whole content of your lease.   Couldn't be happier to embark on this journey with this fantastic team: From left to right—Frederik Durant, Bahadir Karaagac, myself, and Michael Machatschek.   A special thank you to the amazing AtechX and Aroundtown team: Angie Mahtaney, Nikolai Walter, and Sandra Tomaschke.

Building our MVP Co-Pilot for Commercial Real Estate at Reavant feels like riding the hype cycle of the past 18 months of Gen AI / LLM / Agent technology in compressed time. As production-grade projects are moving away from generic fully autonomous agents towards more controlled and custom cognitive architectures, the crux of the challenge seems to discover the ideal division of labor between user, developer and agent(s). And to translate this into a cyclic workflow as well as rightsized tools/functions. This interview with Harrison Chase provides an honest and realistic review as well as advice on how to transition from the overstretched promises to the under-hyped skills of classic software architecture, design and engineering. Conclusion: While trust (prompt writing & LLMs) is great, control (software engineering & UI) is still key. At least if the end goal is a reliable production system.
