How does #digitalization impact #sustainabilityreporting 📝? In this latest Medium op-ed, our research associate Alper Cezmi Özdemir explores this question, setting the stage for our new paper: "The Impacts of Digitalization: Identifying Emerging Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainability Reporting." As #digitaltransformation accelerates, it’s revolutionizing sustainability reporting. This shift introduces exciting opportunities but also new challenges, such as: ✅ Environmental impacts: data centers' energy use and e-waste highlight the need for renewable energy and better recycling solutions. ✅ Social & human rights: privacy issues, algorithmic bias, and job shifts due to automation create significant challenges. ✅ Reporting gaps: current frameworks don’t fully address emerging topics like #AI, data governance, and cybersecurity. With its proactive approach to standards development, GRI is well-positioned to take charge of addressing the impacts of digitalization and proposing new, groundbreaking solutions. 📰 Read the op-ed 👉https://lnkd.in/dSVun4ER 📕Download the paper 👉 https://lnkd.in/dt9yypkk
