What an incredible experience at the #LondonBusinessShow last week. Jam Up! had been shortlisted from over 500 applicants - making the final 15 with a chance to win the 100K prize! It was the best pitch I have done - and we received great feedback from the judges, Ajmal Mushtaq, Chelsey Baker and Rachel Elnaugh-LOVE. Thankyou to Creative UK Creative UK Cornwall for supporting us to attend the event 🙏 and to Martin Barnes for his coaching support. Congratulations to winner Niki Copperwheat at Letterbox Cocktails, delivering gift boxes of pre-made cocktails for any occasion. Thanks also Shammy Seenivasagam for coordinating the event! I watched some incredible people pitch, including Alon Stoerman, whose app, re:Action Health, is making a real difference in slowing the progression of dementia. Matt Gale is transforming teacher recruitment with TeacherChest, a marketplace designed for teachers, schools and parents. Umberto Zanesco impressed me with Atlas HP Academy, where job skills are taught through immersive games. Claire Nicholson’s HelixScribe.AI is an innovative AI-powered marketing tool, while Mattia Esposito and Rocco Del Campo presented AUDIIMAX, a platform which may become the new Spotify for businesses. It was also great to learn about @Maurice Rüttimann's work who showcased Planet Smart, a company producing sustainable biomaterials without compromise. Sibaji Dey Choudhury presented Mathletico, an app that makes learning math accessible to all ages. Manjinder 'Manny' Mann’s platform, Bren, is helping employees work efficiently alongside neurodiverse peers. Rachael Pynenburg Miam Jars brought delicious sauces from a former chef to the table, while @Tony Lewis introduced Loyalty Club PLC, a cool rewards program for retailers. Matteo Beroldo and Chipo D. did an awesome pitch showcasing TaskAces helping communities connect with local service providers, due to launch in Feb 2025. It was great to be joined by my CTO Michael Owens. We enjoyed a coffee and wonder around the show after the pitching. It was a fantastic day!

It was around this day, last week. We are grateful that our maths app 'Mathletico' was featured in The Business Show's Top-15 finalist selection from over 500 applicants at the £100K Launchpad Excel London I had only about 15 minutes on stage, equally divided into my pitch time and the judges’ questions. Much like how you would see on Shark Tank or Dragons' Den, except there was a large audience behind where the judges sat. While on stage, I spoke about numeracy for adults, how it is much neglected in Britain and the fact that a strong foundation in functional maths will support the British economy as a whole. According to UK charity National Numeracy: “Struggling with numbers can make more people vulnerable to debt, unemployment, poor health and fraud. All this costs the UK economy a staggering £25 billion a year.” According to another report on Statista: “Around 17 million adults in England - half of the working-age population — have the numeracy skills of primary school children.” Unfortunately, the above horror stats were not able to get Mathletico to the top spot, yet I was pleased that my speaking received a lot of applause from the general audience at large. I was relieved to see many heads nodding in agreement. At Mathletico, our tagline is “Better Maths, Better Tomorrow". Our grand vision is to revolutionise maths education by creating awareness on a wide range of practical maths usage in our everyday lives that will propel our economy ahead. Mathletico is a bootstrapped venture and we are raring to be the Duolingo in the world of Maths, catering for a global audience. In the next few weeks, I will be announcing some cool Math games on Mathletico that you can play on a train, on your bed or (discreetly) when you are bored at a meeting! I was lucky to meet some of the fellow ambitious finalists who came from a diverse range of industry verticals. Alon Stoerman Matt Gale Umberto Zanesco Claire Nicholson Mattia Esposito Rocco Del Campo Lara Solomon Oliver Pearn Rachael Malthouse Maurice Rüttimann Manjinder 'Manny' Mann Rachael Pynenburg Many thanks to the judges at my speaking Rachel Elnaugh Chelsey Baker Ben Askins and also other judges at the event Simon Squibb Tommy Mallet Carolina Godinho-Moxon Ajmal Mushtaq Many thanks to Shammy Seenivasagam for her hard work in coordinating the event. You can download the "Mathletico" app now from App Store/Play Store and sign-up for FREE on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone and Android tablet. Stay curious, soar higher. I’ve been working as a marketing assistant at Easy Digital Filing for a few months now – my first ‘𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘫𝘰𝘣.’ Juggling this with my Master’s at King's College London has been a wild ride, but it’s also been full of lessons that you just don’t get from a textbook. So, here are a few things I’ve picked up along the way: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘆 Group projects in uni gave me a taste of teamwork (some more painful than others), but the workplace has its own challenges. Navigating communication with my manager, collaborating with different teams, and pitching ideas to senior members have been steep learning curves. Not every idea lands as expected (especially when it’s coming from a #GenZ marketer 😝), but finding the balance between speaking up and respecting boundaries has been a crucial lesson. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 (cliché but true) Splitting my time between work deadlines and academic assignments has taught me how to squeeze every minute out of the day. Lunch breaks at work often double as study sessions, which sounds intense, but even an extra 30 minutes a day means I can enjoy my weekends without the stress of catching up. The real key? Prioritising and accepting that some chaos is part of the process. 𝗕𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 I came in thinking I’d focus on social media strategies. Little did I know, I’d be designing landing pages, diving into UX/UI design, and learning video production. Flexibility has been key, and stepping out of my comfort zone has been the most rewarding part of this job along with gaining new skills I never imagined I’d pick up. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 – 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 The truth is, when I first started, I honestly didn’t know how to do much – from Googling "how to flip an image" in Canva to watching tutorials on video editing. But with each new challenge, I’ve gained more confidence, and now I trust myself to tackle just about anything. A big highlight for me this year was exhibiting at The Business Show – representing our company, engaging with potential clients, and learning from the fast-paced environment. As 2024 wraps up, I’m excited to continue learning, growing, and embracing every new opportunity! 🎉 #MarketingJourney #GenZInTheWorkplace

Recapping a November full of some pretty cool moments! It was great to hear Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu speak at The Business Show about how the same perseverance that characterised his football career enabled him to found a successful business. I then had the pleasure of hearing all about Tim Prendergast's inspirational journey to Paralympic gold in 2004 and beyond. A nice reminder of some of the incredible people add-victor has worked with over the years. Receiving the Gold Standard Internship Host award from Careers Service, University of Oxford was also a great moment, and nicely cyclical for me having been an intern myself two years ago! And there were some Autumn Internationals in there too 🏉
