A few weeks back I heard someone on a panel about Ukrainian business say that they would “get to ESG after the war ends”. I respectfully disagree. Environment, social and governance considerations are actually more critical than ever during a time of war. And to that end, I’m pleased to share that we released our Responsible Business Report and Climate Change Report today. The former was, admittedly, the easier one to write. It was a true team effort, filled with contributions from colleagues on the ground showcasing the positive social impacts of our initiatives. The Climate Change Report, however, was, errr, quite the beast. The empirical rigour of climate modelling was a new experience for me, but we were expertly guided through the process by the team at Ricardo plc. And, despite the challenges of war, we remain on track to achieve our Net Zero pathway. A big thank you Wallace Woo, for being my co-pilot on these reports, to the team at Ricardo led by Lourdes Alejandra Velarde and Jennifer Creek CChem CEnv, and to the team at Emperor, in particular Melissa Davis. With just a one day in the year left; we got there in the end! You can read them here: https://lnkd.in/esyiW59F
