As discussions around regional devolution gain momentum, it’s clear that the potential to drive economic growth and empower local communities is immense. We believe this means working hand-in-hand with our clients locally to help them succeed. I’ve had a great day today in Birmingham which started with meeting a group of CEOs and senior leaders from across the Midlands business community. We discussed the geopolitical landscape, the UK's macroeconomic outlook and critical drivers of growth like talent, infrastructure and funding. Later, on a firmwide livestream, I had the chance to share my thoughts about the balance we must strike between driving growth and ensuring stability - a challenge that’s ever-present but one I know we are well-equipped to meet. Birmingham is a perfect example of why PwC UK's commitment to the regions matters. Through our investments, client-focused work, and development of local talent, we’re not just helping businesses grow; we’re helping communities thrive.

Our CIO, Jo Birch, had the pleasure of attending the inspiring Booming Birmingham: What Next for England’s Second City? This thought-provoking discussion brought together leaders to explore Birmingham’s journey towards 2040, with a focus on global investment, job creation, sustainable development, and strategic infrastructure. We welcome Birmingham City Council‘s recognition of the powerful partnership opportunities with developers to support the realisation of our shared vision for future growth. We look forward to playing a key role in the Birmingham Knowledge Quarter to unlock growth for both the city and its communities. Thank you to Fisher German LLP for hosting. How fast has this year gone? 🎄✨ Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is in full swing at Victoria Square, bringing festive cheer with its twinkling lights, cosy stalls, and the iconic carousel right at the heart of the action. Running until the 24th of December, the market is packed with all the Christmas favourites—pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, glühwein, and an array of beautiful handcrafted gifts. We were thrilled to be part of the Innovation Awards last night in Birmingham, where two of our own were honoured with accolades. Joanna Birch was named "Female Innovator of the Year", and Tani Dulay; "Directors’ Award". The Innovation Awards, hosted by the The Technology Supply Chain, continue to shine a spotlight on the great work being done in our region, and we’re incredibly proud to be recognised alongside so many talented people.
