discoverIE Group plc Half Year Results are in, highlighting strong progress against our strategy over the last six months. ⬆️ Operating profit +4% at constant exchange rate (CER), driven by higher gross margin and operational efficiencies ⬆️ Record operating margin of 13.8%, up 100 bpts, ahead of FY25 target of 13.5% ⬆️ Sales down 4% yoy CER as supply chains normalise ⬆️ Orders +8% yoy CER. Organically, orders +1% yoy and +5% sequentially. Order book of £163m, equating to c.4.5 months of sales ⬆️ Excellent operating and free cash flows, with >100% conversion rate for both. Gearing reduced to 1.45x, below the 1.5x-2x target range ⬆️ Completed one bolt-on acquisition (HiVolt) for 6x EBIT multiple ⬆️ Current trading – in line with expectations, with order runrate ahead of sales ⬆️ On track to deliver full year underlying earnings in line with Board’s expectations Our Group Chief Executive, Nick Jefferies, adds: “discoverIE delivered a resilient first half performance with a 4% increase in underlying operating profit and growth in operating margins to 13.8%, ahead of our near-term target. With a flexible operating model, we are able to control costs in response to lower production volumes, which along with ongoing efficiency initiatives and accretive acquisitions, has more than offset lower sales at the low point of the cycle. This is a great strength of the business that has delivered improved underlying operating profits and margins in each of the last ten years. The Group continues to deliver excellent free cash flow, with a conversion rate of 126% over the last 12 months. This, together with expected cash flow in the second half, provides balance sheet funding of c.£70m for further acquisitions. We remain focused on generating above market growth through the cycle and our design win pipeline remains strong. This, along with our pipeline of acquisition opportunities, is our engine for growth and we remain on track to deliver full year underlying earnings in line with the Board’s expectations."
