Focus Group Recruitment Invitation: Research Project on eating disorders amongst trans and non-binary people. Do you identify as trans or non-binary? Are you over 18? And would you be interested in talking about eating disorder or disordered eating amongst trans and non-binary people? (You don’t need to have any personal experience of eating disorders or disordered eating) - If so, we want to hear from you! We would like to invite you take part in a research project led by researchers at the University of Birmingham which is exploring the eating disordered experiences of trans and non-binary people. Participation would involve taking part in one focus group (group interview) over zoom/ teams and you would be reimbursed £25 for your time. All the information you provide will be confidential. TransActual need to hear from you. The Trans Lives Survey 2024/25 is now open and your answers will be used to write a report (it will be anonymised don’t worry) that we can share with all sorts of people to help them understand what life is like for trans people in the UK today. Our 2021 Trans Lives survey has been cited in all sorts of reports, guidance and training materials and has helped TransActual and other organisations working to make the world a better place for trans people to live in. So, by taking 15-20min to fill in our survey, you’ll be supporting this work. We want to hear from trans adults in the UK, at all stages of transition, from all social and cultural backgrounds, of religions (and of no religion), and of all genders. We were able to use responses from the 2021 Trans Lives Survey to highlight how experiences of racism and ableism interact with transphobia. If you're a Black trans person or trans Person of Colour, and/or disabled, please do take part because it's important that the data we collect is truly representative.
