  • We're kicking off 2025 in the best way possible, we're welcoming Sam Hawkins to the Fauna team. He's joining us as Design Director and we couldn't be more excited to work together. Sam has most recently spent some time freelancing, working with the New York Times, The Guardian, and Deliveroo. Previously, he was Design Director at M&C Saatchi, and Senior Designer at Saatchi & Saatchi in Melbourne. We're just six months into Fauna and this will be a big year, we're so happy that Sam will be shaping that work - and future - with us.

I had the pleasure of meeting Hattie Roche of Fauna at CultureCon® West in early November, when she released the Dream Days Research Findings. No real surprises here, but it's worth saying it louder for those who maybe haven't paid attention to date. This is great research. This summary they shared a month ago hits the nail on the head 🔨 🔨 🔨 Our dream days are supported by what most impacts our energy and, what drains it... ⬆️ Being recognised for my work ⬆️ Achieving my goals or getting things done ⬆️ Growing my knowledge and skill set and developing my capability ⬆️ When I feel like my job has meaning ⬆️ Feeling trusted and empowered to get things done ⬇️ Negative interaction with my leader or line manager ⬇️ When I've got no time to get my work done ⬇️ When work spills over and impacts my home life ⬇️ Mixed messages or priorities from leadership ⬇️ A feeling of not achieving my goals or targets As leaders, this is the checklist against which we need to measure how we're doing for our teams. Yes, our job is to deliver for the business, but the way we do that is by hiring, motivating and retaining top talent. And they have spoken.

We said a first hello to Fauna this year, and what a first few months it's been... 💡We've worked with forward thinking leaders from organisations large and small, iconic brands and lesser known powerhouses. 💡We've partnered with an amazing community of people to design and deliver employee experiences from first hellos to fond farewells... 💡We launched WorkPossible in partnership with CultureCon® to shift the way we think about EX. And... 💡We've got incredible plans for 2025... We couldn't be more grateful. You've been with us from the beginning, and we can't wait to shape what's next... Thank you from us all - Hattie, Liz, Kate and Ben.

Great to see our thoughts on 'balanced headspace' and WorkPossible featured in https://hrreview.co.uk/ today. Hattie shared: “We know that people want to make an impact and do their best possible work, but the complexity of their employee experience, lack of clear expectations and feelings of overwhelm are getting in their way. What’s striking is that none of the things people ask for in the study are unachievable. In fact, there are fundamental human desires that can be addressed through overall changes to the employee experience" “There’s a proven link between high-quality employee experiences and business performance, so it makes commercial sense for organisations to address these concerns.” WorkPossible was created in partnership with CultureCon, and you can read the full article below 💡 #employeeexperience #workpossible

  • Why do we make everything so complicated? We're used to streamlined experiences in the way we interact with brands and businesses as customers. Sure, it doesn't always go to plan, but there's a recognition that to keep our custom, it needs to be easy for us to engage and buy. Netflix creates our watch list, Amazon suggests how we should shop, Instagram fills our personalised discovery feeds. At work, there’s so much complexity clouding our headspace and preventing our best work. Let’s map out and identify where we can clear up the grey areas of our experience, starting with those laborious annual performance processes. We don’t need a nine-box grid or a ten-step onboarding process. We don’t experience this sort of complexity as customers, why do we need to as employees? Let’s clear up what we can and design for a simplified future of work. What's on your list to simplify in 2025? 💡 #employeeexperience #simplifcation

  • Great to see WorkPossible in Employer News - HR and Business News for UK Employers this morning. In WorkPossible we introduced the concept of Balanced Headspace. What so many of us want at work is so much more nuanced than work/life balance. We know we're seeing increased levels of burnout at work and that isn't just down to working too many hours. Expectations are often unclear, priorities overlap, high work volume, and transformation is at an all time high. We need more than just balance to do our best work, we need headspace... • 71% of people say their workplace thinks about, supports and cares for them as a unique person. That's great, isn't it? But what about the 29% who couldn't agree with that statement? That's nearly 1 in 3 employees globally saying they feel like a number, a resource, or a cog in a wheel. That's just not good enough. People are unique. Our human contexts are all unique. At any given time, your team could be dealing with stress at home, sickness, caring for a loved one, grief, or any other challenge that we can all face. Why should we not show up for them in those moments? Why should we not recognise what they need from us to make their lives work? And, to do their best work? If the future of work is human, the experiences we have need to be human too. 42% said their dream ingredient to feel they belong and can be themselves. That 42% rises to 55% for neurodivergent people. 💡People want to belong. We just need to enable them to feel it. 💡 #employeeexperience #belonging

  • We're are hard-wired to need recognition. In fact, for many people, being recognised is a core ingredient of the dream day at work. When we feel recognised our brain’s reward center is activated, releasing dopamine and oxytocin. Meaning we’re more likely to repeat actions that earned recognition and replicate our best work. Now that’s the dream state. And it matters. If people feel recognition is a high-quality employee experience... 💡They are 40% more likely to describe their organization and culture as high-performing. 💡And 34% more likely to say their organisation supports and thinks about them as a unique person. 💡But only 46% of people say that recognition is a high-quality employee experience in their organisation. We need to know that we matter. That our work doesn’t go unnoticed. We want to celebrate our strengths and skills, and be thanked for the impact we make. We need to get it right. #employeeexperience #recognition
