The Faraday Institution is the UK’s independent institute for electrochemical energy storage research, skills development, market analysis, and early-stage commercialisation. It brings together 500+ researchers from 25+ UK universities and 120+ industry partners on projects with commercial potential that will reduce battery cost, weight, and volume; improve performance and reliability, and develop whole-life strategies including recycling and reuse. The Faraday Institution community is a broad group and comprises people and organisations active in the UK electrochemical energy storage sector, including academia – whether directly funded by the Faraday Institution or not – industry, and government. We encourage everyone working in this space to keep in touch with us, via social media and our website, to keep informed of our latest news and events and as we share community successes.

🌍 Calling renewable energy innovators in sub-Saharan Africa 🌍 PREO’s next competitive open call for funding launches today - inviting innovators in sub-Saharan Africa to apply for catalytic grants supporting projects that harness productive use of renewable energy (PURE) to improve livelihoods, boost incomes, and enhance climate resilience. Who can apply: - Any business or non-profit organisation legally registered and/or based in a sub-Saharan African country (excluding South Africa). - Innovators piloting a new business model (or pivoting an existing one) focused on the productive use of renewable energy. Funding details: - Up to 20 grants available, each worth up to EUR 200,000. - Projects should be 12-24 months in duration.
