About us

We offer comprehensive CRM and business management software to meet the needs of publishers. As the 1st software-as-a-service provider in this sector in the UK, we understand the challenges of delivering remote-working capable systems. We know no two publishers are the same. At the heart of our system is a single customer view that covers advertisers, digital and print members, subscribers, shoppers, layout, invoicing and e-commerce. Financial transactions are streamlined through the use of online payments and automated direct debit processing. Our reporting capabilities offer management dashboards summarising key indicators by business area. Comprehensive APIs allow for integration with pre-existing systems. The 7th annual UK Enterprise Awards spotlight the most hard-working companies in the UK, who go above and beyond to provide outstanding products and services. The Engine Shed was successful and received Best Publishers Software Platform 2023 in the UK Enterprise Awards.

PMPro Integration Are you, like many magazine and online publishers, itching to try out sophisticated strategies for paywalled content and members-only content? If the answer's yes, we have good news for you! Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we've integrated with the magnificent PMPro plugin for Wordpress. When combined with Pulse Publisher, you get the flexibility of PMPro's page management and flexible subscription models merged with Pulse Publisher's best in class CRM and business management software for periodical publishers. Here's a couple of practical examples of how it can be applied: Offer multiple tiers of membership based on duration of subscription and number of renewals; tie those to e-commerce discounts and subscription discounts. Fred has renewed three years in succession, he's now a gold member. Sheila has just renewed after her first year, and she's now a silver member. As a gold member, Fred gets 15% off all orders and free postage; as a silver member Sheila gets 10% off her next order. Limited access to paywalled content. Allow readers to sample up to 3 paywalled articles without an active subscription. Jazz can visit the site three times over a 30 day period, after which paywalled content is hidden and replaced with a link to buy a subscription. After 30 days, the counter resets and she has the option to view three further paywalled articles. Subscriptions based on hybrid content sources. Anna subscribes to Employment Weekly. Mike subscribes to Contractors Monthly. The editorial team want to put the same article behind a paywall for both titles. Do you have a challenging subscription model or intractable subscriptions-related problem? Share it here, or get in touch to hear how we'd tackle it!

We are at the Future of Media Technology Conference today with Press Gazette, exploring themes on AI and the evolving landscape of content attribution and publisher growth opportunities. AI, as an unignorable force, is currently in flux, demanding human involvement for stabilization. How will AI attribute content back to publishers, and is AI's current usage merely scratching the surface? With 35% of Times staff already embracing AI for enhanced efficiency, a rapid shift to 75% seems imminent. Yet, the technology lacks the depth of intelligence required for full autonomy? The shift towards publishers as platforms raises questions on maximizing the global market and subscriber acquisition strategies. Are publishers focusing enough on long-term value and retention, and on catering to diverse audience preferences? There is a debate on the relevance and decline of "search" with Google. Can publishers grab this space? Can publishers seize the initiative and repurpose content for varied platforms to engage different demographics effectively, including emerging platforms like Tik Tok, in order not to neglect Gen Z audiences? What are your thoughts? #Media #AI #Publishing #ContentAttribution #DigitalPublishing #SubscriberRetention #PublisherStrategy #AudienceEngagement #GenZPlatforms
