  • It's important to us that all our volunteers feel fully equipped and supported while carrying out their roles. Investing in training for them is an investment in support for all the mums and mums to be who attend our groups. It also provides new opportunities for mums who aren't sure what format 'going back to work' might take for them. Our peer-led supportership helps cover the costs of training and ongoing support for our amazing volunteers. Be a Happy Mum Hero: Support Happy Mums with a Monthly Supportership! Every mum deserves to feel happy and supported. At Happy Mums, we understand the unique challenges of motherhood and the power of peer support. That’s why we offer life-changing peer groups, training, and resources – all focused on maternal mental health and wellbeing. But we can’t do it alone. We rely on the generosity of people like you to help us continue our vital work. By setting up a supportership, you’ll be making a real difference in the lives of mothers across Cumbria. #supporterships #volunteering #socialenterprise #mumssupportingmums #peerled #peersupport

  • With the festivities continuing for New Year this week, our groups will remain online, with in-person meetings resuming from January 6th. Personally (Lucinda here 👋), I find there’s a lot of pressure at New Year to start something new or tackle something you’ve been putting off. To go out or throw a party. To celebrate the year you’ve had—or put a bad year behind you and prepare for a great one. It’s too much pressure for just one day. Yes, it’s a transition in the calendar, but it doesn’t have to be a transition in your life—unless you really want it to be. Change isn’t something we humans are naturally great at, so why force it? I won’t be going out on the town or hosting a big party (unless you count me, Harry, and a few tubs of Pringles as a party!). Sure, I like to reflect on some of the good things that happened over the year, but I’m not making any resolutions. I’m not deciding, “This is the year I’ll go to the gym three times a week” or “I’ll cut out chocolate for good.” Instead, I’m focusing on being content with who I am—which, now that I write it, might be more of a resolution than I originally intended! But hopefully, you get what I mean. I’m not resolving to change; I’m choosing to appreciate who I am and what I have—and that feels like enough. Take this as your reminder that you are amazing just as you are. Take each day, each hour, each minute as it comes. Smile if you feel like it. Cry if the tears want to fall. Every emotion is as valid as you are. And you are always welcome to safely share whatever emotion you need to in our groups. #festivitiescontinue #onlinesupportgroups #mumssupportingmums #newyearsresolutions #youareenoughasyouare

  • At Happy Mums we always try to keep our groups running over holidays where possible because mental health doesn't take a break. But our venues do, so rather than cancel altogether we are running what we can online to make sure there is a safe space at the usual weekly times. Everyone registered for groups will recieve an email from info@happymums.org.uk during the week. If you'd like to join you can register online or message use via messenger and we will get a link to you. Take care, we wish you all the support you need this Christmas x #happymumschristmas #mentalhealthdoesnttakeachristmasbreak #peersupport

  • Help us create safe spaces for mums and mums-to-be to share their true feelings! On average, it costs just £4 per mom for venue hire—ensuring these women feel heard, supported, and not alone in their journey. Would you consider donating £4 a month to uplift a mum in your life? Your support can make a world of difference, giving them a nurturing environment to express themselves and connect with others. Together, we can empower mums and foster a community where no one feels isolated. Let’s help each other thrive!

At Happy Mums, we believe your mental health experiences are a strength to be embraced. Interested in helping out? Check out https://lnkd.in/drmvjx6k . We’re currently recruiting in North and West Cumbria.
