About us

TEMPLE ROW CLIENTS LOOK TO US TO KEEP THEM WEALTHY, NOT MAKE THEM RICH. This highlights the difference between financial advice and wealth management. Our opinion is financial advisers buy products according to your risks and goals, which is a great product-centred approach. We want to make your financial decisions intentional. We begin with a conversation and a team approach, then take it a number of steps further with our Temple Row Client Experience. We align your dreams, goals and ideas with an implementable plan, regular reviews and re-alignments. This gives our clients peace of mind. Want to know what our long-term clients get when working with us? Call the office and schedule a time to talk with the Temple Row team today. • Beyond the Numbers: My Journey in Wealth Management When my mother encouraged me to ask my father Bart Dalton about his career, my initial response was dismissive: "Working with numbers? That's boring." It turned out to be one of the most important conversations of my life. My father became not just my inspiration, but my mentor, teaching me that wealth management isn't really about numbers - it's about changing lives and building lasting relationships. His guidance laid the foundation for what would become my life's work. From that early skepticism, I've gone on to build three successful wealth management practices across two countries. Each business started from scratch, and each one taught me something new about both finance and human nature. Along the way, I've had the privilege of learning from industry leaders like Russ Hill, JC Abusaid Mark Tibergien Phil McGovern FPFS, who set standards of excellence that continue to inspire me. Looking back at my younger self's reluctance, I can't help but smile. What I thought would be a mundane profession has given me a fulfilling career focused on real impact and meaningful relationships. Sometimes the best opportunities in life come from listening to your mother's wisdom – especially when she tells you to talk to your dad. To anyone thinking about getting into the industry please look at this Money Marketing article which is interesting and mostly correct as an opinion. https://lnkd.in/eHZJsnGb

  • 🌟 The True Value of Advice: Navigating Life’s Challenges 🌟 At Temple Row Wealth Management, we’ve always known that our true value as advisers isn’t just about growing wealth during good times. It’s in the tough moments—the turbulent markets, and more importantly, the personal challenges. This was brought home to me recently, working with two clients: one who sadly lost their spouse, and another now navigating the heartache of their partner needing care. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. When times are easy and markets are climbing, it’s tempting to think, Who needs an adviser? But it’s when life throws its curveballs that having someone who knows you, your goals, and your family makes all the difference. Constant communication, deep understanding, and being there when it matters—that’s the foundation of what we offer. A study by Russell Investments, one of the largest asset managers in the world, highlights the Value of an Adviser. https://lnkd.in/eUpEwpmB From navigating volatile markets to offering tailored support in life's biggest transitions, the numbers back up what we see every day: advice is about more than returns—it’s about reassurance, stability, and partnership. Thank you to our incredible team and clients for trusting us to be by your side through it all. Let’s keep making a difference together. #WealthManagement #FinancialAdvice #ValueOfAnAdviser #TempleRowWealth

  • The Autumn Budget 2024 has introduced significant changes that will impact high-net-worth individuals and investors. Most notably, there are major reforms to Capital Gains Tax rates, the abolition of non-dom status, and changes to inheritance tax reliefs for business and agricultural property. The changes to CGT rates in particular, increasing from 20% to 24% for higher rate taxpayers, represent a substantial shift in investment taxation.(thanks to Adrian Holles and Mark Allen and the team at TAG TAX for the summary) Pension rules continue to evolve, with unused pension funds becoming subject to inheritance tax from 2027. The freezing of various tax thresholds until 2028/30 means more individuals may be drawn into higher tax brackets through fiscal drag. Of particular interest to international investors is the replacement of the non-dom regime with a new system offering 100% relief on foreign income and gains for the first four years of UK residence, marking a fundamental change in how international wealth is taxed in the UK. Key changes include: Personal Tax & Savings: Basic rate tax band remains frozen at £37,700 until April 2028 (meaning 40% tax threshold stays at £50,270) Additional rate 45% tax threshold stays at £125,140 Personal allowance remains frozen at £12,570 until April 2028 ISA allowances unchanged: £20,000 for ISAs and £4,000 for Lifetime ISAs Capital Gains Tax: Basic rate increases from 10% to 18% and higher rate from 20% to 24% from October 30, 2024 Annual exempt amount remains at £3,000 for 2025/26 Business Asset Disposal Relief rate increases: From 10% to 14% (April 2025) Then to 18% (April 2026) Investors' Relief lifetime limit reduced from £10m to £1m from October 30, 2024 Pensions: Annual Allowance remains at £60,000 Lifetime Allowance replaced with: Lump Sum Allowance of £268,275 Lump Sum and Death Benefit Allowance of £1,073,100 Unused pension funds will be subject to Inheritance Tax from April 2027 Non-Dom Status: Remittance basis of taxation to be abolished from April 2025 New regime offering 100% relief on foreign income/gains for first four years of UK residence Temporary Repatriation Facility available for three years:  12% rate for first two years  15% rate in final year Inheritance Tax: Nil rate band frozen at £325,000 until April 2030 Residence nil rate band frozen at £175,000 until April 2030 Agricultural and Business Property Relief changes from April 2026: 100% relief limited to combined £1m 50% relief on value above £1m Please note that Temple Row Wealth Management are not tax advisers.
