  • We are thrilled to share that Abigail Storms, Tate & Lyle's SVP, Global Platform, Sweeteners and Fibres, has been elected Chair of the Board for Calorie Control Council (CCC).      Established in 1966, the CCC – is an international association representing manufacturers and suppliers of low- and reduced-calorie foods and beverages, including manufacturers and suppliers of more than 24 different alternative sweeteners, fibres and other low-calorie, dietary ingredients. It fosters collaboration among industry stakeholders and promotes dialogue with scientific and governmental organisations, health professionals, and consumer groups on the benefits of low- and reduced-calorie ingredients.    It’s great to see Abigail bring her extensive experience and expertise to this group. She is very much looking forward to working with the other key executive committee members over the coming year.   #CalorieControlCouncil #TateAndLyle #IndustryLeadership #ScienceofSweetness

  • Did you miss this? Here is another chance to dive into the latest insights and trends on mouthfeel!   In today’s competitive market and everchanging consumers’ preferences, creating products that deliver exceptional mouthfeel is essential to stand out and maintain consumer interest. From balancing costs to meeting health-conscious trends, mastering mouthfeel is the foundation of elevated food and beverage experiences.    Together with CP Kelco and partnering with Kantar, we recently launched the “Future of Mouthfeel” report, which not only highlights what’s next in mouthfeel trends but also reveals three key areas formulators need to focus on to thrive:    1. Optimise mouthfeel: Ensure the preferred sensory attributes are retained in formulation while optimising costs.  2. Reformulate mouthfeel: regain the lost mouthfeel when reformulating products into healthier, cleaner or more sustainable versions.  3. Innovate experiences: Delight consumers with elevated mouthfeel and novel sensory experiences.    Get ahead of the curve with insights into future trends and strategies to meet evolving consumer expectations. 👉 Download the report now to discover the latest trends and insights in mouthfeel: https://lnkd.in/evKuXuFj     #MasteringMouthfeel #Innovation #ScienceSolutionsSociety

  • 🚸 Supporting Our Local Community: Safety to School Initiative in Thailand 🚸   Recently over 30 volunteers from our team at our plant in Northeastern Thailand, brought the “Safety to School” initiative to a local secondary school. Providing a fun and educational workshop to 180 students and 20 teachers, the aim was to help build a safety mindset and teach emergency response procedures. Key highlights from the day: ⛔ Safety Awareness: Students were trained to recognise risks, understand road signs and road safety rules.  🧯PPE and Fire Safety: They learned to use personal protective equipment and fire extinguishers correctly. 🦺Emergency Preparedness: A school emergency team (in case of fire) was formed, and an evacuation drill was conducted.   Thank you to the Tate & Lyle employees who volunteered their time. The feedback was very positive, with students feeling better prepared to handle emergencies. Building a safety culture is a long-term journey and the Safety to School initiative is one initiative helping to build awareness and skills.    #Community #TateAndLyle #SafetyAwareness #Purpose

  • Last week our CEO, Nick Hampton and Sarah Kuijlaars, Chief Financial Officer visited our teams in Brazil. During their visit, they toured the orange groves in the citrus belt and our plants in Matão and Limeira. Our pectin and citrus fibre operation in Brazil utilises the waste stream, specifically the peel from citrus juice pressing, and using 100% green energy in the process, we produce pectin and citrus fibre. Enabling us to help feed a growing global population with food and drink that is more nutritious, sustainable, and tastier. Their final stop was in São Paolo meeting the teams at the Customer Innovation and Collaboration Centre. Thank you to everyone at Tate & Lyle and CP Kelco who were involved in making the visit so informative and enjoyable. #TateandLyle #CPKelco #Pectin #CitrusFibre #Sustainability

  • Learning's from Setting Science-Based Emissions Goals   In a recent article for edie, Anna Pierce, our Director of Sustainability, highlights why setting science-based targets (SBTs) is essential for any business serious about tackling climate change. She discusses how these targets not only enhance a company's credibility and ambition but also help in gaining recognition as an industry leader.   By aligning with a 1.5°C trajectory, businesses can attract sustainability-focused investors and customers, ensuring long-term growth. The process involves understanding emissions, aligning resources, and being prepared for detailed reviews. It is a worthwhile undertaking as it fosters transparency, collaboration, and mutual growth.   Curious to learn more about our journey and insights? 🌍🌱 Celebrating World Soil Day 2024 with the launch of the Future of Farming: Cultivating Resilience Video🌱🌍     Our new video, in the ‘Future of Farming: Cultivating Resilience’ series, hosted by Lukwesa Burak and produced by ITN Business, showcases our sustainable stevia programme in Dongtai, Eastern China. Developed in collaboration with Earthwatch Europe and Nanjing Agricultural University, the video illustrates the far-reaching benefits of regenerative agriculture practices that support soil health for food security and help society meet the challenges posed by the climate crisis.     At Tate & Lyle we are dedicated to ensuring sustainable stevia growth in the industry to support society’s sugar-reduction goals. Watch our new video to learn more about how our sustainable stevia programme equips farmers with the knowledge to grow a more climate-resilient crop while reaping productivity gains.      The results speak for themselves*:  🌿 74% reduction in fertiliser use.  🌿 90% decrease in terrestrial acidification, improving soil health and biodiversity.  🌿 76% decrease in terrestrial ecotoxicity, reducing the impact of farming inputs on the environment.  🌿 56% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.     Anna Pierce, Director of Sustainability at Tate & Lyle, explains:   “The significant environmental gains achieved by our stevia farmer partners since we began this programme, offer a clear example of how science-driven insight and partnerships can transform our food system in the fight against climate change. With land clearing and conventional farming responsible for around 20% of greenhouse gases**, soil management has a huge role to play. And, as our farmer partners attest to, healthier, better managed soil has been shown to bring direct benefits: higher yields, greater resilience from weather extremes, and a healthier environment for surrounding communities.”      Thank you to Anna Pierce, Abigail Storms, Senior Vice President of Fibre and Sweeteners platform, and Steven Loiselle, Senior Researcher at Earthwatch Europe for their insights.     Join us in celebrating World Soil Day and watch the video to learn more about our commitment to regenerative agriculture and the positive impact on the environment and local communities we are striving to make.
