2024: The year we proved #lowcarbon #investments aren’t just possible, they’re happening at an unprecedented #scale. This year, strategic #partnerships turned the #energy #transition from concept to reality. At Johnson Matthey, we deployed. Our collaboration with DG Fuels led to a sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) project capable of supporting 30,000 transatlantic flights annually. Meanwhile, our partnership with HIF Global resulted in South America’s largest e-methanol plant, advancing the #decarbonization of the #marine and #automotive sectors. We also teamed up with Honeywell UOP to deploy syngas and fuel upgrading technologies, making sustainable fuel production more economically efficient. Partnering with thyssenkrupp Uhde, we advanced the leading #blue #ammonia solution, propelling the energy transition further. #Winning the Gulf Energy Information Excellence #Award was a milestone that validated our approach to tackling complex #decarbonization challenges. Competing against over 500 nominees showcased the tangible impact of our work. At events like Sustainable Aviation Futures, our team demonstrated that collaboration is the key to transformation. We’re not just developing technologies - we’re reshaping entire industries and showing others what’s possible when #economic #leadership and #sustainability are prioritized. Some personal highlights of 2024 included: • “This #team!”: Continuing our #transformational #journey achieving #extraordinary #results with an exceptional #NAteam and #LLT, where #psychological #safety empowers us to collaborate #boldly and execute at #pace. With this foundation, everything else just falls into place. • Accelerating our customers’ vision of #bankable “steel in the ground,” while strengthening partnerships across the entire #valuechain - from #feedstocks to end #consumers. • Continuing my board leadership at Lycée Francais de San Diego during an exciting period of #growth and #transformation, helping shape this amazing school’s future direction. • Supporting #earlystage technology firms, nurturing ideas with the potential to scale into global, impactful businesses. • Hitting some, but certainly not all, of my Strava 🏊♂️ 🚵♀️ 🏃♂️ goals across multiple continents - excluding a memorable encounter with a #stingray 🦈 . Looking ahead to 2025, our focus is clear: #accelerating #investments and project deployments through #strategic #partnerships. We’re driving progress across key verticals, including #hydrogen, #ammonia, #power, #SAF, #methanol, and other innovative #fuels. He joined DHL Group in 2018 and played a key role in various decarbonization initiatives. From 2021 to 2024, he led DHL Group's Clean Operations Office, coordinating the development and implementation of the company's sustainability roadmap. Henrik's responsibilities included defining Science Based Targets, establishing a Sustainable Fuel Policy, promoting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) use, and implementing a Book & Claim approach. In early 2024, he transitioned to DHL Express as the Director of Global Sustainable Aviation Fuels. In this role, Henrik focuses on sourcing SAF for DHL Express and driving the company's ambitious target of achieving 30% SAF usage by 2030." He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and Masters and Ph.
