Improving healthcare by connecting caregivers, patients and systems through smart communication technology
About us
About Us Connecting caregivers, patients and systems through smart communication technologies. At SSG we believe that human interaction is an essential part of the caregiving process, and that good technology should enable caregivers to be free from unnecessary distractions, so they can focus on giving their patients the care they need, when they need it. That’s why for 60 years, we have been developing smart solutions and technologies that connect people and systems to provide safer, healthier environments for both staff and patients in the acute care setting. That’s why, for almost 60 years, we have been developing smart solutions and technologies that connect people and systems to provide safer, healthier environments for both staff and patients in the acute care setting. TECHNOLOGY | How do we do what we do From our first electronic nurse ‘call bell’ system launched in 1964, which enabled patients in hospital to call for help, we have continued to explore ways that technology can work for our customers. Whether that is providing essential critical alarms, integrated communication systems or software solutions to enhance clinical workflow, our focus is on keeping patients safe, providing a calming environment and giving our customers more time to care. OUR LEGACY We are proud to be a British manufacturer, with a strong heritage in product design, build and installation. As technology advances, our digital solutions can help customers evolve with the everchanging demands of the healthcare environment, preserving resources, reducing costs and improving patient care. Our people are inspired and empowered to make to develop best-in-class solutions that have a positive impact on the patient and carer experience. As part of the Halma family, we are passionate about creating a safer, cleaner and healthier future for everyone, every day.

Yesterday, over 170 businesses, including 68% small and medium-sized enterprises, met in Plymouth to hear about plans for future healthcare infrastructure delivery in Plymouth and Truro and the local skills and employment opportunities these projects will provide in the South-West of England. Through presentations and networking, participants met with representatives from University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, main contractors, Cornwall Construction Skills Advisory Forum and Building Plymouth. Our New Hospital Programme (NHP) has the potential to provide work to thousands of businesses, big and small, from across the UK over several years. Today's event is part of our ongoing programme of engagement to ensure that firms across the UK get ready to bid for work and put themselves in the best position possible to be successful. Speaking about the event, NHP’s Chief Programme Officer, Morag Stuart, said: “These projects are at the forefront of transforming the country’s future hospital delivery. We want to build a collaborative supply chain that will deliver hospitals faster and at less cost – as well as an enduring capability to build hospitals far into the future. Connecting a wide variety of companies across the South-West and beyond is key to the programme’s success.” #morethanahospital #supplychain #collaboration
