Over the last few weeks our we've been meeting with local MPs to talk about the work that our brilliant colleagues have been doing for their constituents. We've been accelerating investment ahead of our most ambitious plan for the region - investing £3.2bn over the next five years, on top of the £1.2bn we've already spent over the last two years. Our plans to have more customers as shareholders, through our unique WaterShare+ scheme, directly gives our communities a voice in their water company, with more to come. Next week, Ofwat will deliver its final determination on our 5-year plan - as we continue to focus on what matters most to our customers. About us
South West Water is part of Pennon Group plc. We provide reliable, efficient and high quality drinking water and waste water services throughout Cornwall and Devon and in small areas of Dorset and Somerset. We also look after the region's bathing waters and coastline. South West Water came into being in 1989 with the privatisation of the water industry. We inherited a water system suffering from a century of neglect but, thanks to the tireless work of our 1,300 employees, have brought the region's drinking water, sewerage systems and bathing waters into line with the stringent UK and European Union standards. This extensive programme of environmental improvement has resulted in some of the finest bathing waters in Europe, picturesque scenery and clean rivers with stunning wildlife. We believe that by investing in the future of our region, we are not only improving the quality of life for today's residents and visitors but are also taking responsibility for future generations.

“On behalf of all my dedicated colleagues here at Pennon, we welcome today's announcement from Ofwat. With more investment than ever before, we can continue to transform what we do for customers and communities.” “For me, while today's news is about investment, the real story is about those who will deliver this change, the amazing people I work with, the generations of families that have served their communities in the sector for over hundreds of years and will continue to do so for the next 100 years.” Susan Davy.

We are investing a record £3.2bn for customers across the South West, Bristol, Bournemouth and Sutton and East Surrey to deliver what matters most to customers and communities for the period 2025-2030. The £3.2bn investment will see further improvements across the main customer priorities – securing safe, clean drinking water, reducing the use of storm overflows across the regions’ bathing waters and protecting the environment, with investments in renewables. Susan Davy, Pennon CEO said “Today’s news from Ofwat means that we have been given the green light to invest a record £3.2bn level over the next 5 years. This is on top of the £1.2bn we’ve already invested in our assets recently. We’re serious about making a difference now and in the future - our customers rightly deserve to see real change which we are already delivering. At the same time, we’re here to support customers to use less water, save more money as we do more than ever to support anyone struggling to pay their bill.” Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/dW-446W5.

They have been battling the hazardous conditions through the night to keep the taps flowing for our customers and protect the environment.
