  • I was 6 yr old when my nana taught me to kiss, literally sticking his tongue in my mouth and later started touching my stomach , chest, pressing them so hard and eventually touching my vagina . Later my cousin also started doing the same , one night I was sleeping with my brothers and I felt something within my vagina it pained a lot and as I opened my eyes it was him all over me . I got scared and just closed my eyes. I felt numb afterwards. I told my mother about it after a year and she said it's a way of expressing love. They just love me so I thought it's normal and these things continue until I turned 13 yrs old. It was then when I realised that it's something that I'm not feelings safe. I started closing my door or sleeping on the couch whenever they used to come home. When I got married and my husband tried to get intimate I started screaming and pushing him by legs . I am still struggling with it. Written by Anon --- 📢 Got a story to share? Visit 👇 https://lnkd.in/dwY22_N9#somethingtosay

  • 💥 Silence shattered. Why believing survivors matters. Nancy's daughter was the victim of abuse from the age of 7, at the hands of a family friend. One thing she will never regret is immediately believing her brave daughter when she spoke out. She began to piece together some gut feelings and incidents from past years that she hadn't known to pay more attention to. Her story is tragic, but she is determined to impart some of the things she's learned to other parents. Watch Nancy's video and join us in this movement of resilience and hope 👇 https://lnkd.in/epiiaaf5 To see Nancy's story in written format 👇https://lnkd.in/e9264Jk6 We want change and won't stop. 🚨 Interested in sharing your story via Video? • Does this indicate a broken system? How can we prevent offenders from re-offending? How can we prevent them from offending in the first place? Do you think harsher sentencing would discourage them? How are children protected when an offender is released back into society? ALL the questions on this one! Let's start a discussion below👇 Quick one.... 💡If you want to hear more on this subject, Jeremy interviewed Beth Hoel last year - Beth spent nearly 25 years with the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department in Phoenix, Arizona. While working with the probation department, Beth spent the vast majority of that time supervising sexual offenders. It's an interesting conversation that is sure to spark further thought. Watch here: https://lnkd.in/eTQibwwZ
