For most, the holiday season is a time of warmth, joy, and happiness… But for those who are in vulnerable situations, it can be not only a time of worry, it can be a time of violence. Unfortunately, the holiday season brings cold weather which means more time cramped inside, it means more financial strain due to excessive Christmas spending, and a time of heightened festivities such as office and family parties. For those who are in vulnerable or abusive situations, these situations can mean the need for help. That is exactly why we have designed and developed our training programme and website – so you and your teams can become fully and professionally trained to spot the signs of vulnerability and know how to provide valuable, and potentially lifesaving, help to those who need it. Training your team could make an incredible difference to a vulnerable person. Get in touch today to learn how to sign up for our tailored eLearning programmes. https://lnkd.in/erwQYhZN Eren Bessim Hannah Wadey Adam Ratcliffe #saferbusinesses #ukbusinesses #training #elearning #vulnerability #skillsondemand

Our ongoing collaboration with Metropolitan Police Town Centre Teams has led to another notable case. We identified an offender as prolific after he committed several shoplifting offences in September. Reports from various businesses indicated that this individual threatened staff members with a knife while being verbally abusive and hostile. Our West End Team continued to gather valuable intelligence to support our operation. The police colleagues in TCT A conducted plainclothes patrols and worked alongside Safer Business Network and CIS Security Limited over several weeks to apprehend this offender in the act. As a result of our joint efforts, the offender has been charged and remanded to court on 14 counts (1 robbery and 13 thefts). He has a further hearing scheduled for the robbery charge in January 2025. We have gathered multiple business impact statements and will continue to collaborate with the police and local businesses in hopes of obtaining a Criminal Behaviour Order. 👏 The West End Team loved working with TCT A during this operation, a big thank you for their hard work and dedication. Well done Westminster City Council - a great campaign
Sexual harassment is not okay. On the final 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence that is calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls, we’ve launched our It’s Her City Too video. It highlights the unacceptable experiences of sexual harassment faced by women and girls, and the need for everyone to not just be bystanders, but to help end sexual harassment in our city, together.
