Over the past 6 months we have been working closely with our client to design their new build house for their family in Bishopbriggs. An expansive site with spectacular views which previously obtained planning consent, we were given the task of upscaling the proposals that met the clients design aspirations and brief.... We submitted the proposals for planning consent a few weeks back and if all goes to plan, works should commence Spring 2025.

A different type of extension….. A few months back we submitted proposals to GCC Planning Dept to extend and improve ‘Same Day Tyres’ existing premises…. Same Day Tyres has been operating their tyre garage for over 25 years with their existing premises becoming ‘tyre’d’ (pardon the pun) and this new extension will provide the business with improved facilities that will see them succeed over the next 25 years… #S2 #samedaytyres #extension

Over the past 6 months we have been working with our client develop proposals for their new build house in Newton Mearns. Our brief was for the house to be of traditional style to reflect the adjacent dwellings and its surroundings with contemporary features to the rear. After pre-app discussions and sitting down with the planning officer we submitted proposals for a full application in May. All going well, we are hopeful that all consents will be in place for the works to commence late '24/ early 2025.

S2 submitted proposals a few weeks back to convert the previous ‘Thornhill Care Home’ into assisted living accommodation for 9 young adults to live independently with care provided 24/7 in a structured environment. Although living independently, we have introduced spaces internally and externally for the young adults to come together and live as part of a community. Fantastic work by our friends ay Abstract Canvas on producing CGIs.

A few weeks back, S2 submitted a full application for this new build house to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs Planning Department. The site is directly adjacent to the West Highland Way and faces towards Loch Lomond. The proposals see this sustainable house nestled in to the sites topography with the use of natural materials. The concept retains the principles of harmonising the materials with the environment through locally sourced sandstone & slate accented with a volume of corrugated metal. Earlier this week we received planning consent for Kenny Miller to partly demolish, extend and significantly alter his new house (basically rebuild) S2 were tasked of viewing the property, explore its potential and based on our proposals and suggestions, our clients bought the house and we thereafter progressed for a planning submission. #54 It was a nice surprise to see S2 positioned 54 in the Urban Realm 100. Last year was our first year listed at 82 and are flattered to have jumped 28 places. I think there is one other above us who have less than 5 staff. Whilst its nice to be recognised in this position, it is not quite accurate as there are great practices who are positioned lower and have more experience whilst doing lovely work......however we will take it : ) Also nice to see an article with my friend Curtis Walker who is taking CGI visualisation to another level and we look forward to continue to work alongside Abstract Canvas
