There has been a dramatic 11% increase in the intake of abandoned cats from 2019 to 2024 across Coventry, Solihull, Rugby and Nuneaton. One way we're providing more support is improving our cattery in 2025 but to do that we need the help of fosterers across the region. When the current cattery block closes in February we'll need temporary homes for our cats and kittens. All fosterers will be provided with the equipment they need, food, litter and vet expenses and treatments paid for the cat/kittens in their care. For more information or to see if you could foster please email fostering@rspca-coventryanddistrict.org.uk

The festive season is nearly upon us and while we're all looking forward to celebrating, setting off fireworks over the Christmas period can be incredibly stressful for our pets and other animals. Last year the national RSPCA received 1,200 stories about animals experiencing fear and stress. Do you want to spark a change? To help over 64% of animals that suffer each year from a firework display, get involved and help the national RSPCA lobby for change: https://lnkd.in/fHFHHha?

Ever thought about which cats have the hardest time finding homes? Sadly, our black cats tend to stay with us the longest, simply because of their color. But we believe a black cat crossing your path is a sign of good luck and love waiting to be found. If you're in need of a good luck charm why not adopt one of our black cats: https://lnkd.in/eMiEwNvW

How can collaborating with charities benefit your business? Partnering with charities offers unique ways to engage employees, boost morale, and make a difference. Not only does it provide valuable skill-building opportunities, but it also fosters a culture of empathy and community connection—whether it's through weekend volunteering, company-led volunteer days, or initiatives outside of work hours. For charities like ours, support can take many forms. Volunteering at our centre or shops is invaluable, but there's also a more personal way to help: fostering. By fostering an animal in need, your team members can provide vital care, giving a dog or cat a safe and loving temporary home. It’s a deeply rewarding experience that creates lasting impact—both for the animal and the person who opens their home. If you’d like to discuss how to bring these opportunities to your employees, please reach out at emma.davies@rspca-coventryanddistrict.org.uk.
