A big part of their role involves organising events and running projects throughout the year, including the sponsored walk, Stride for Cancer Care, and other initiatives such as Bid for Better, a Dragons’ Den-style competition, which awards funding for innovative projects across our hospitals. Over the last year, our amazing Oncology team has provided life-changing care to more than 11,000 patients 💙 Between December 2023 and November 2024, the team treated 11,186 cancer patients, administering 4,880 rounds of chemotherapy, 3,641 radiotherapy sessions and performing 2,665 surgeries. Behind every one of these figures is a story of compassion, resilience and expert treatment. We’re incredibly proud of our team and of our patients, for their strength and determination. Thanks to everyone who played a part in this vital work 👏

The kindness shown to our children's ward, Hascombe has been exceptional this year ❤️ Thank you to Alfi, who is the current IBO Youth World Champion, and his team who raised more than £3,000 to buy toys and games for our children’s ward 🥊 We'd also like to thank members from the Cranleigh Golf and Country Club who donated two big boxes of presents for children to open on Christmas Day ⛳ #RoyalSurrey

🎵 Christmas cheer is in the air 🎵 This festive season, we’ve been treated to not one, but two marvellous musical visits that have left our staff and patients jingling all the way 🔔 The Surrey Fringe Chorus, a male barbershop choir, provided pitch perfect seasonal songs around the wards, while talented pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School sang their hearts out to give a fabulously festive concert to our staff. Our catering team will serve up a Christmas roast to more than 500 patients on Christmas day 🎄 They will also dish out around 350 meals to our colleagues throughout the day 🏥 We want to thank our catering team for their brilliant service 💙
