Transporting the gifts kindly donated by our generous residents to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity this year required some very special present sacks. Residents at Stanmore Place were recently invited to a Festive Arts & Crafts workshop to help us create 10 customised Santa sacks. For the 10 year anniversary of our dedicated toy donation initiative for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, we have been amazed by the outpouring of support! This year, we have collected a record of over £31,000 worth of gifts for children who will unfortunately be spending time in the hospital on Christmas day, with residents and clients from 69 development donating gifts, and a further 18 supporting the cause via our JustGiving page. Over the past 10 years, we have collected a total of £161,000 for the charity, with over 600 developments participating in our Christmas collections. We have been awarded a Five Star accreditation in our British Safety Council audit for the sixth consecutive year! Demonstrating our commitment to best practice in health and safety, we are proud to have secured an impressive score of 97.55% - an increase of over half a percentage point from last year. The Five Star award is the highest accreditation given by the British Safety Council, representing the gold standard in occupational health and safety and we are proud that we have consistently surpassed the Five Star threshold of 92%, with scores above 97% every year since 2021. Having also maintained our ISO 45001 accreditation, our performance is a testament to our commitment to continual improvement, as reflected in the growth of our health and safety team and systems. Our regional office in Manchester selected Manchester Central Foodbank as its local charity this Christmas 🎄 Collections points were placed in our office and, with support from our clients, in the reception areas of some of our most prominent buildings in Manchester such as Beetham Tower, Lumiere, Castlegate and Leftbank, welcoming our residents to donate too. It was great to see such a wide range of items donated for this incredible local cause including tins, jars, bottles, boxes, hygiene products, and much, much more, equating to a donation weighing 266.3kg. This fantastic amount will provide 38 x 3-day Emergency Food Parcels or equivalent to approximately 342 meals! Led and managed by our Health and Safety Coordinator, Jamie Whalley ATPI who recently visited each donation point to collect items from our colleagues, and then met with Rob Matheson from the Foodbank to make sure everything got there in one piece. Manchester Central Foodbank was founded in 2013 by a group of students connected with the Manchester Universities Catholic Chaplaincy and is now a registered charity, and as part of the Trussell network of 428 foodbanks, provides three-day emergency food parcels for people in need, on a referral-only basis. It now supports over 1,500 people a month and has given out nearly 5,000 parcels and supported over 14,000 people during 2024. Rendall & Rittner has ongoing concerns over the number of buildings across the UK which have outstanding fire safety issues and we need your assistance! We are conscious of the considerable financial and emotional impact which delays in remediation are having on affected owners and residents and have recently written to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister to express these concerns and to offer to meet with Government officials in order to explore how current policy and processes could be enhanced to speed up remediation. One of the key concerns outlined in our letter was the impact which the failure to remediate at pace is having on leaseholders’ ability to obtain mortgages for buying and selling homes. We believe that many leaseholders are stuck with high mortgages and interest rates. Similarly, many leaseholders are unable to sell since potential purchasers are unable to obtain mortgages. In Alex Norris’ response to us, he outlined the measures which have been taken to obtain a commitment from the top 10 lenders that they will make mortgages available on un-remediated buildings. We are concerned that this may not have fully addressed the problem. With this in mind, we thought it would be helpful to gather specific data, which we can then share with Government. With this in mind, we are asking leaseholders to share their experiences with mortgaging properties by completing a short survey. It is our intention to share this with Government. It’s great to get out and about and see how our sites are running. I am travelling back from a successful trip to Edinburgh and Glasgow, one of the highlights of which is the train journey through the stunning Lakes & Borders. This time I also managed to catch the Xmas lights in both cities so, despite it being -3 degrees this morning, it was a fun time to visit. Glad to catch up with Agata Mazur MARLA before she heads off to pastures new at #edinburghuniversity. Good luck Agata and thanks for all your hard work over the past few years at #lochrinquay! Throughout 2024, we've had a busy year engaging with our residents and the wider community. For residents at developments across our portfolio, we have organised a broad range events this year, ranging from mobile farms and summer drinks, to schools visits and F1 simulator events in partnership with Sky. Our Resident's Club has organised excursions to amongst others the Searcys Champagne Bar at Battersea Power Station and to the theatre to see Stranger Things. We've also supported the wider community through talks on careers in property management, litter picks, tree planting and involvement with our chosen charities. This Christmas, for example, we are once again supporting the incredible work of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity by collecting toy donations for children who will unfortunately be spending time in the hospital on Christmas day. #Highlightsof2024 #RendallandRittner

Following our recent reassessment by Investors in People (IiP), we have once again attained Platinum accreditation status. We have held Platinum status since 2018 and we will now hold it for the next three years through to 2027. Recognising our commitment to people management and employee wellbeing, this is the highest accreditation possible.
