𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 🎥 Radius Group was proud to support Balfour Beatty plc and Mace Dragados SA in delivering and positioning new equipment for the Traction Substation (TSS) at the HS2 site in Euston. This new facility replaces the original substation, built in 1907, with a modern infrastructure designed to support the Northern Line and the wider rail network. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: ✅A 20m-deep excavation was completed to house the new substation, featuring three underground and four above-ground storeys. ⚡The TSS will convert electrical power for the rail system and support ventilation services for the Northern Line. 🚇A 90-metre tunnel will connect the substation to the London Underground, ensuring efficient integration. ➡️Historic features from the original substation will be preserved for heritage displays. In the video, you can see our team carefully delivering auxiliary transformers to one of the upper levels, showcasing the use of advanced plant handling and lifting techniques to meet the unique challenges of this project. Yesterday, Radius Group's Marketing Manager Rachael Swanston was up early in Trafalgar Square to capture our Contract Lift & Plant Installations Team in action, installing this year’s Christmas tree - a gift from Oslo, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1947. This annual gift from Norway symbolizes gratitude for the UK’s support during World War II and highlights the strong bond between the two nations. The 20m Norway spruce, carefully selected from Oslo’s forests, is a centre piece of London’s festive celebrations, and will be decorated in traditional Norwegian style on Thursday evening.
