  • The key to change is avoiding perfectionism, which we know can be challenging for lawyers. Here’s the Radiant way: Start with what you have: mapped processes, templates, and playbooks. Use the technology already in place, and aim for repeatable processes with the basics you already own. Next, put some basic technology in place. Don’t worry about complex systems, just start with simple ones, many of which are already available in your organisation. Finally, rather than building a top-down transformation programme, try a bottom-up continuous improvement approach. Think of it as ongoing refinement. Remember, 70% of teams aren't doing this yet, which means a huge opportunity for you to lead the change. Don't limit yourself. Iterative improvements are your low-risk path to becoming a contracting hero. Link: https://lnkd.in/dxmstdBe Source: Radiant Law

  • Not all heroes wear capes, but they should definitely know how to draft. Mario Ferreira, Legal Advisor at Radiant Law, shares five skills to keep your drafting and negotiation game sharp (and a little less painful): 1️⃣ Understanding subject matter – Really understand what your agreement is about and what the relevant considerations are. 2️⃣ Preparation – Do the homework about the matter you’re dealing with, so you’re not caught off guard during negotiation. 3️⃣ Communication – Be accurate and concise. Make sure both your client and the counterparty get the message. 4️⃣ Manage expectations – Clearly lay out the next steps, how long they’ll take, and who’s responsible. 5️⃣ Don’t sweat the small stuff – Major risks matter most. Skip the "nice-to-haves" and focus your energy where it counts. Contracts don’t have to be a headache. Get these skills down, and you’ll close deals faster with less back-and-forth. Want to take it further? Our workshops show you exactly how to make contracts work for you.🎯 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dWsBicJG

Contracts are operational documents - and should be written for an audience of users, not judges and lawyers. Funnily enough if you make them clear enough for business users, the judges will probably understand the deal too. Making your contracts usable is fundamental to addressing the problem we keep seeing in WorldCC surveys: what goes wrong is a lack of clarity on scope and pricing.

  • We know the burden faced by in-house legal teams: tighter deadlines, bigger workloads, and the constant push for efficiency. So many teams we speak with feel like they are just trying to keep up. In this clip, Alex Hamilton explains a model that’s shifting towards smarter, more efficient legal support from every corner. ✅Your business teams can start stepping up to self-serve more  ✅Alternative Legal Services Providers (ALSPs) should demonstrate skill (and progressively do more of the traditional in-house team work) ✅In-house teams then get the freedom to dive into more complex and interesting projects (and take back some of the work sent to law firms) ✅Law firms can focus on the big, but rare bet-the-company contracts. We're on a mission to create a supplier ecosystem beyond just traditional law firms. This type of resourcing makes the most of your team's strengths, smartly divides the work, and involves strategic partners who get your business, and drive deals forward. Interested in learning more? Our next 'Repeatable' workshop will be on Tue 14th Jan at 3pm UK / 10am NY. Spots are filling up—register now! https://lnkd.in/dWsBicJG

The 7th WorldCC Pitfall in Contracting is contracts that are difficult to use or understand. Making them short, clear, and relevant will help. The people running the contract will tend to ignore what it says if it is turgid and complex... meaning that the protections aren't used in practice. But the most important parts of the contract are the parts that change between deals: the scope and pricing. These are the hardest parts to standardise and the parts that have the biggest impact on operations, finance, and the other parts of the business that will need to make the relationship work. Move these parts to the front of the contract and make it easy to see what needs to happen and what is different to other deals.

The 6th WorldCC Pitfall in Contracting is insufficient flexibility and governance in contracting. This is hard to get right if we don't trust the people who will be running the contract. A contract should be a minimum viable trust-building tool to get a relationship going. Your best gift to the future is a simple framework, that is easy to change, and nudges relationship-building governance.

  • Most contracting processes are stuck in no-man’s land. When no one takes ownership and every department passes the buck, progress stalls. But fixing contracting doesn’t mean sweeping changes or endless back and forth. It starts with practical steps, empathy, and building cross-departmental trust. Fixing contracting requires leadership and a team. Join our workshop to learn how small, practical steps—like understanding other teams’ pain points—can create big wins. 📢 Save your spot now. https://lnkd.in/dWsBicJG #RadiantLaw #ContractingProblems #RADICALContracting #FixContracting
