🌍🎄 As the festive season approaches, it’s inspiring to see E.ON UK leading the way in raising awareness about sustainability and ethical choices during Christmas. Their latest blog highlights that one in three Brits are prioritising the planet, saving money for their loved ones, and making ethical shopping decisions this year. These findings show how sustainability is becoming central to our everyday decisions even during the most traditionally consumer-driven time of the year. It’s a great reminder that small, thoughtful choices can make a big impact, not just for our families but for the environment as well. 🔗https://lnkd.in/d8HG_Mf6 #Sustainability #EthicalShopping #LeadingWithPurpose

I am truly honored to have been invited by The Purpose Coalition to the Parliament House London last week as one of their ambassadors, joining their remarkable members and inspiring Student Ambassadors. This incredible event was not only a celebration of the outstanding achievements of 2024 but also a powerful moment to align on our vision for 2025. Together, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to breaking down barriers, creating opportunities for all, and driving forward meaningful and lasting change. A heartfelt thank you to The Purpose Coalition Rt Hon. Justine Greening and Finlay Magowan for inviting, organizing such an inspiring gathering and for their unwavering dedication to fostering impactful partnerships that truly make a difference.

📢 Launching the Social Scopes Measurement Standard This week, we proudly launched the Social Scopes Measurement Standard in Parliament, a groundbreaking framework to measure employer social mobility and social impact. Developed with input from our members, employers of all sizes and sectors this new standard provides a clear, consistent, and transparent way to track progress in creating fairer access to opportunity. Inspired by environmental Scopes 1, 2, and 3, the Social Scopes focus on people: • Scope 1: Tracking employees’ socio-economic backgrounds. • Scope 2: Extending this commitment to suppliers and supply chains. • Scope 3: Measuring businesses’ community and customer impact. This holistic framework enables employers to benchmark their efforts, share insights, and drive innovation, ensuring that what gets measured gets done. We’ll begin workshops in January 2025 to help employers adopt the Social Scopes and track their impact. Together, we can transform access to opportunity across the UK. 👉 For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/djSwZ9VE #SocialScopes #EqualityOfOpportunity #SocialImpact #LeadingWithPurpose
What gets measured gets done. That’s been my guiding principle, and it drives The Purpose Coalition’s mission to create fairer access to opportunity. While we measure progress in education, employment has remained untracked - until now. 🚨Introducing The Social Scopes Measurement Standard This week in Parliament, with cross-party MPs, I launched the Social Scopes Measurement Standard. Developed with businesses of all sizes, this groundbreaking framework measures employer social mobility and impact through a holistic, consistent, and transparent approach. 🌟 How It Works: Inspired by environmental Scopes 1, 2, and 3, the Social Scopes measure access to opportunity through: • Scope 1: Tracking employees’ socio-economic background to ensure equitable access and career progression. • Scope 2: Getting suppliers and supply chains tracking socio-economic background. • Scope 3: Measuring core social impact contribution to communities and customers. This new Social Scopes standard ‘democratises’ social impact tracking, enabling employers of any size to benchmark outcomes, share insights, and drive innovation. Transparency will show society the breadth of impact employers are achieving. 💡 Driving Change Together: The Social Scopes will: • Compare social mobility efforts across sectors and regions. • Build the first evidence base to track equality of opportunity. • Develop targeted strategies for driving inclusion. Huge thanks to Steven Cooper CBE and Angela Halliday for their pivotal roles in bringing this vision to life, and to the Business Leadership Advisory Council for their invaluable support. We’ll run workshops from January 2025 to help employers adopt Social Scopes tracking. Sign up now to join the movement. Together, we can ensure that what gets measured gets done. 👉 More info: https://lnkd.in/eRSiXAzi #SocialScopes #LeadingWithPurpose #EqualityOfOpportunity #SocialImpact

💡 How do we build businesses that create real change? The Purpose Lab, one of our latest initiatives, is reshaping the way we think about leadership and impact. In a recent session, we were inspired by the insights of Claire Costello, Chief People Officer at the Co-op, on how values-driven organisations can elevate inclusion, social mobility, and opportunity. 🌍✨ With nearly two centuries of history, the Co-op continues to evolve as a powerhouse for societal good—whether through its inclusive hiring practices, ethical sourcing, or community-driven campaigns. Its flexible career pathways and focus on apprenticeships exemplify how purpose and innovation can thrive together. 🚀 This isn’t just a conversation about business; it’s about how collective ownership and accountability can redefine success for everyone. 📖 Discover how the Co-op is leading the charge for systemic change: https://lnkd.in/eZpFvitx 👇 Join the conversation! 📢 Expanding Employment Opportunities for Prison-Leavers: A Collaboration Between Sodexo UK and Ireland and The Purpose Coalition Last week, at a parliamentary reception hosted by Carolyn Harris MP at the House of Commons, an exciting announcement was made to drive forward employment opportunities for ex-offenders. Together with Sodexo UK and Ireland, The Purpose Coalition unveiled a new partnership to expand Sodexo’s Starting Fresh programme - a groundbreaking initiative supporting businesses to recruit directly from prisons. This collaboration builds on the success of Starting Fresh, aiming to unite purpose-led organisations within The Purpose Coalition to create sustainable employment pathways for prison-leavers and individuals with criminal convictions. By addressing barriers to employment, the initiative seeks to empower those furthest from opportunity and reduce reoffending. Key to the partnership is new Community Assembly research, led by The Purpose Coalition, to engage directly with individuals in the justice system. This approach ensures their voices are heard in shaping policies and programmes that facilitate successful reintegration, the first of which was held just yesterday at HMP Peterborough alongside Sodexo's Director of Social Impact, Angela Halliday. At the reception, Tony Simpson, Sodexo UK & Ireland’s Justice COO, highlighted the transformative potential of employment: “We see first-hand the power of meaningful work to help rebuild lives. Through this collaboration, we aim to challenge perceptions and create real opportunities for those leaving the justice system.” Rt Hon. Justine Greening added: “This milestone partnership is a crucial step in ensuring opportunity is accessible to everyone. By uniting expertise and purpose, we can drive real social impact and inspire more employers to join this mission.” With over 11 million people in the UK holding a criminal record and over one million job vacancies, this untapped talent pool represents an opportunity to address workforce challenges and drive social change. 🗞️More here: https://lnkd.in/dtkMJgRb #SocialImpact #EmploymentOpportunities #BreakingDownBarriers #PrisonReform #LeadingWithPurpose
