  • Spring Meadows: Building the Future—Today Pages 64 and 65 of the Build Design & Construction magazine showcase a bold vision for the future of housing—a vision brought to life by PureHaus in their groundbreaking Spring Meadows development. This isn’t just another housing project; it’s a call to action to rethink how we build, live, and sustain our communities. (https://lnkd.in/ef5bChVP) PureHaus is proving that the homes of tomorrow can—and should—be built today. These homes are designed not only to eliminate fuel poverty but also to create healthier living spaces for people and the planet. The Spring Meadows development challenges the status quo, demonstrating that sustainability and affordability don’t have to be competing priorities. A People-Powered Movement for Change The future of housing lies in our collective hands. Spring Meadows invites us to imagine a world where: Homes are ultra-efficient, slashing energy consumption and costs. Indoor environments support health and well-being, free from toxins and pollutants. Communities are built with climate-conscious materials, preserving our planet for generations to come. But imagining isn’t enough—we must demand more from the construction industry. We need homes that work for people, not profits. We need buildings that don’t just shelter us but empower us to live better, healthier, and more sustainable lives. Be Part of the Change As highlighted in Build Design & Construction (pages 64–65), PureHaus is leading by example. Now it’s up to you—homebuyers, developers, policymakers, and communities—to push for better standards and smarter solutions. Together, we can power a people-driven revolution in construction—one that builds better homes, better futures, and a better planet.

Spring Meadows: Design led, Installer Applied and People Powered After years of meticulous design, strategic planning, and tireless work behind the scenes, Spring Meadows is now moving toward completion—marking a monumental milestone in sustainable living for Leeds and beyond. As the first Passivhaus-certified development of this scale in the region, Spring Meadows is set to redefine what it means to live sustainably, comfortably, and responsibly. A Vision Years in the Making Spring Meadows wasn’t just an idea—it was a vision built on innovation, collaboration, and a firm belief that homes can and should do more for people and the planet. The journey began with a bold question: What if we could build homes that didn’t just shelter us, but actively supported healthier, greener lifestyles? Years of research, planning, and problem-solving turned that vision into reality. From the very first blueprint to the final brick laid, every decision has been made with purpose—to create homes that deliver unmatched energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. What Makes Spring Meadows Different? Passivhaus-Certified Efficiency – Built to the world’s leading standard for energy efficiency, each home at Spring Meadows is designed to minimize heat loss, reduce energy demand, and maintain optimal indoor comfort year-round. Sustainable Building Materials – From construction to finish, eco-friendly materials have been carefully selected to reduce environmental impact. Healthier Living Environments – Advanced ventilation systems ensure fresh, filtered air throughout the home, enhancing indoor air quality and well-being. Long-Term Savings – With dramatically reduced energy consumption, homeowners benefit from lower utility bills while contributing to a greener future. A First for Leeds and Bradford—And Just the Beginning Spring Meadows is more than a development; it’s a statement—a proof of concept that large-scale sustainable housing is not just possible but practical. It represents the first step in reshaping the way communities are built, focusing on people-powered action and planet-first design. As completion nears, we’re not just celebrating the end of a project—we’re celebrating the beginning of a movement. A movement where sustainability isn’t an afterthought, but the foundation for every decision we make. Are You Ready for the Future of Housing? With Spring Meadows, Pure Haus has shown that building better isn’t just a dream—it’s a reality. As we prepare to welcome residents into these revolutionary homes, we want to ask: Are you ready to live smarter and greener? What role will you play in shaping the future of sustainable living? Will you be part of the movement toward homes that care for people and the planet? The countdown is on. Stay tuned for the final unveiling of Spring Meadows and be ready to witness how this first-of-its-kind development is setting a new standard for excellence in Leeds and beyond. 🌿

  • 🌱 Driving Forward the Future of Sustainable Living: Reflections on a Great Discussion at FBE Leeds! 🌱 I’m thrilled to share highlights from an insightful panel discussion at Forum for the Built Environment (fbe) Leeds, sponsored by the amazing LEDA - Certified B Corp. This event brought together passionate experts and pioneers to delve into the advancements, hurdles, and bright future of Passive House design and implementation. Key Takeaways from Our Conversation: 💡 The Benefits of Passive House: Unmatched energy efficiency, superior indoor air quality, and a notable reduction in carbon emissions. It's not just about building differently; it's about building better for both people and the planet. 💰 Challenges to Address: Yes, the upfront costs can be intimidating, and there's a recognized skills gap in the workforce. Coupled with uneven government support, the path isn’t without its obstacles—but we’re more than up for the challenge. 🌱 Opportunities Abound: With a surge in demand for greener housing and innovative solutions leading the charge, there’s tremendous potential for long-term energy savings that benefit not just individual homeowners but communities as a whole. 🏛️ The Role of Policy: We need progressive policies that champion Passive House principles, including stricter building regulations and expanded funding for innovation and development. 🤝 Collaboration is Key: The way forward is through deeper partnerships between architects, builders, engineers, and policymakers. Together, we can mainstream Passive House principles and set new benchmarks for construction standards. A huge thank you to all the experts who contributed their insights and made this event a resounding success: Samantha Jevons, Adam Harper, Adam Layhe from Gleeson Homes, Sarah McClelland from Turner & Townsend, Dan Postill from Bowman Riley, Architects, Building Consultants, Interiors Riley, Roger Stannard, Jim Wild, and Chris Iredale. Special shoutout to those championing change. Let’s keep the momentum going and transform the future of building—one Passive House at a time.

  • It's fantastic to see such innovative developments taking shape in the region, especially with a focus on sustainability and affordability. At PureHaus, we share a passion for building homes that are not only energy-efficient but also future-proofed to meet the needs of communities. We would love to explore opportunities to collaborate as a main contractor on similar projects, bringing our expertise in Passive House design and construction to help deliver homes that align with these values. Congratulations to all involved in the Lowfield Green development—great work!

Always great to meet the people directly benefitting from Combined Authority funding. I was recently at the Lowfield Green development in Acomb, where work has begun on 19 permanently affordable homes on brownfield land. I not only had chance to meet YorSpace, the community land trust acting as developers, but also the future residents who've worked so hard to make the co-operative approach a reality. These innovative modular homes are designed to be sustainable and create a sense of community for residents. A big thank you to everyone helping to deliver the project, including Yorspace, City of York Council, PureHaus, York Community Energy, People Powered Homes Ltd and the Lowfield Green Housing Co-op.
