  • Collaboration is at the heart of great design. This RIBA Journal of De Matos Ryan’s most valued collaborators, features P&M founder Sam Price and Partner, Andy Toohey. The piece highlights how thoughtful, collaborative working between engineers and architects can result in innovative solutions that combine practicality with great design. Thank you, De Matos Ryan Architects. The feeling is mutual! Read more here: https://ow.ly/mWw250Uv4ec 📷: Young V&A, Hufton + Crow

  • After a few years of digital cards, we have gone back to making a small edition of real ones. From sitting down in the autumn to come up with an idea – usually based around one of our projects - to the hectic yet creative rush at the end of November to get it made, we do enjoy it. This year we have reflected on 30 years of working in and around Royal Observatory Greenwich, and our laser cutter has once again not let us down. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all at Price & Myers.

  • We’ve really enjoyed being involved with UKREiiF for the last few conferences, as attendees in 2023 and 2024, and now as Fringe Partners. Price & Myers Partner, Jamie Beeson, and our team are really looking forward to greeting industry friends and colleagues at our event for UKREiiF 2025. Watch this space!

  • After over 5 years of meticulous calculating and collating we are genuinely thrilled to announce that our embodied carbon database has reached an impressive milestone: 600 calculations completed! 👏 A massive thank you and well done to our talented engineers for the commitment and hard work that made this possible. This data has formed the basis of cross-industry targets for structural embodied carbon over the past few years, including the recently published Net-Zero Carbon Building Standard, and we are proud to continue to take the lead in sharing this. But the real highlight? An initial analysis of the data is showing a reduction in embodied carbon across our designs. We will continue to analyse this as we complete our collection for 2024. Stay tuned in the new year, where we will be publishing the next version of our database as well as a comprehensive and honest assessment of where we think we have got to in relation to our targets and where we need to go. 📷: The Structural Engineer, July 2020

Small projects can bring such a big sense of pride—like the Early Years extension at Manor Lodge, which we wrapped on earlier this year alongside IID Architects and LIFE Build Solutions Limited This was one of the first projects I truly got to take ownership of at Price & Myers, and it was such a great introduction to the joys (and occasional challenges!) of working with existing buildings. Seeing my sketches turn into reality is one of my favourite parts of the job, and it was a pleasure working with such a collaborative and passionate team. The detailing on this one felt especially rewarding, and Andy Stagg did an amazing job capturing the end result on such a beautiful day. There’s something so satisfying about seeing careful design and execution come together in the finished project. While the project was nominated for a National Building Award (an achievement in itself!), it unfortunately didn’t take home the win. Still, the recognition was a lovely reminder of the effort and teamwork that went into it. I’m looking forward to continuing this momentum—especially after wrapping up another wonderful glulam café in Radlett with the same team (and if you’re in the area, Phillies is well worth a visit). Here’s to more exciting projects ahead! #NewBuild #Education #BuildingAwards #Timber
