Today marks a new, and very exciting chapter for Prezzo, as we welcome James Brown as our new CEO. We’re really proud to have James on board with us as we build on the foundations of all the hard work of the past few years and develop the business for the future. James is someone with hospitality in his DNA, having worked his way through most roles, from dishwasher to bartender to waiter - he really has done it all. (Although he readily admits he might not have been cut out for the chef role…!) Having grown up in the industry, James has a genuine appreciation for the work that goes into creating an exceptional experience for guests, from the ground up. He knows, first hand, the power that the hospitality industry has to create meaningful connections and brilliant experiences. James is starting his role here by spending time over the next few weeks meeting with our restaurant and support teams to hear their ideas and feedback, in true Prezzo One Team style. As James said to team members last week, “together, we’ll shape the future of Prezzo.” We can’t wait to get going! Welcome, James. #ProudToBePrezzo

Sharing the joy of Italian dining
About us
Our story began in 2000 when we opened our first restaurant in New Oxford Street, London. Back then we were called Jonathan’s. Since then, we’ve become one of the most well-known and most loved Italian dining restaurants on the high street. Today we have 96 restaurants with a team of over 2,000 people – creating memorable moments for our guests, right across the UK. We’re all about Sharing the Joy of Italian Dining; bringing people together to enjoy delicious Italian classics, in beautiful settings – whatever the occasion. Prezzo’s success is founded on the passion of its local operators, and a firm belief in developing strong and engaged leaders within and across its expansive portfolio. Our strong knowledge and understanding of our guests, combined with our focus on menu innovation, are key in cementing our position as the leading casual dining operator in the UK. Ola and Sean, our Cucina & Cocktails 2024 winners, are currently soaking up the Sicilian sunshine, visiting Mount Etna, and indulging in delicious Italian cuisine on their all-expenses-paid trip! 🇮🇹🍷 Their incredible cocktail and dish stole the show, and we’re excited to share that both will be featured on our Spring 2025 menu for all our guests to enjoy. Check out the video below to see their reactions when they found out they’d won! 🎥 #ProudToBePrezzo

This Autumn, we've moved to an all-Italian wine menu with something for everyone. To make sure all of our guests get to choose their perfect wine, we've introduced the option of wine tasting, along with a new way to enjoy wine by the carafe. Here's Dominic Hawksworth & Paolo Vernetti introducing the changes (and enjoying a glass of Italian red!)

This week we hosted one of the highlights of our year - our annual Cucina & Cocktails event! It's a competition where we challenge our team to create fresh food and beverage ideas for our Spring 2025 menu. The key? Seasonal ingredients and Italian inspiration. All our finalists received goody bags with gift vouchers, plus lots of delicious Italian food and drink. The winning entires in each categories will feature on our Spring 2025 menu, PLUS an all-expenses-paid trip to Sicily! So you can see why it's always a hotly-contested prize. As ever, our thanks go to our brilliant team members and our sponsors, who made the competition possible. It is always a pleasure to grab some time with team members and ask them a few questions about what they like about their roles here - and also, (just as importantly) what they do when they're not working. Wiki, who is General Manager at our Eastleigh restaurant, was so generous with her answers and we loved finding out about her previous globe-trotting (and stamp collecting!) experiences. Our people are what make us, so finding out what makes them tick is a joy. #ProudToBePrezzo #MakeItAtPrezzo

We're pleased to announce the appointment of James Brown as our new CEO at Prezzo. James joins us from BrewDog, where he served as CEO of BrewDog Bars and held various senior leadership roles since 2015. He played a pivotal part in expanding their food and beverage operations, launching both hotel and franchise business models, and driving their growth strategy internationally. Under his leadership, BrewDog grew from 18 to 135 sites globally, expanding further through specialist franchise partners in airports and travel hubs. Before joining BrewDog, James spent nearly a decade at G1 Group PLC (now Scotsman Hospitality), Scotland’s largest independent hospitality operator, managing a portfolio of 58 venues and significantly contributing to their innovation and overall growth. As part of this transition, our former CEO, Dean Challenger, will return to his previous role as Chief Financial Officer following Prezzo’s return to profitability. “We are delighted to welcome James to the Prezzo family,” said Jonathan Goldstein, our Chairman. “Dean’s leadership has set us on a path for strong future growth, and with James’ wealth of experience, industry expertise, and proven ability to drive success, we’re excited to build on this foundation, expand our reach, and ensure lasting success in the competitive dining sector.” Commenting on his new role, James Brown said: “I am thrilled to be joining Prezzo at such a key moment in its journey. The brand has a proud heritage and immense potential, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the talented team to drive innovation and create outstanding experiences for our customers.” We’d like to thank Dean wholeheartedly for his leadership and ongoing commitment. Please join us in welcoming James to the Prezzo team!

Today marks the start of National Inclusion Week. "Inclusion" is a word that is often mentioned, but this week is a good time to go a bit deeper into why inclusion at work is so vital. Inclusion is about ensuring that everyone—regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances—feels valued, respected, and is able to fully contribute. To create a truly inclusive workplace, that means recognising and removing barriers that might prevent people from participating equally. While diversity celebrates the differences among people, inclusion ensures that these differences are embraced and integrated into a work culture. And it's not just about recognising obvious factors such as gender, race, or disability; it also means less visible traits like neurodiversity, mental health conditions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. There are some great resources, including some free webinars here: https://lnkd.in/deBDkkz National Inclusion Week is a great reminder that we all have a role to play in creating an environment where everyone can thrive. #ProudToBePrezzo #OneTeam #NationalInclusionWeek

Autumn in Italy. It’s maybe the best time to visit. Gold-brushed landscapes. Cooler, yet snuggly weather. Rich comfort foods fresh from the harvest. We’re bringing a flavour of this cosy season to Prezzo diners, with an updated menu that delivers Italian Comfort in every bite. How best to do this than with a selection of new pasta dishes and dishes straight from the oven – including our new beef shin mezzelune, our spicy ‘nduja gnocchi and our creamy chicken carbonara al forno – baked for a crisp-edged, comforting bite. And for the first time, we’re proud to offer an all-Italian wine list, that’ll have you exploring Italy corner to corner by the glass. Consider this your invite to gather round the table with family, friends or loved ones and enjoy the warmth and comfort of the Italian Autumn brought to you by all of us here at Prezzo. #ProudToBePrezzo
