As the weather turns colder, the support of charities such as Crisis becomes even more important. We’re pleased to have donated more than 7,350 portions of our FUEL10K porridge to the Crisis at Christmas centres, working to provide hot, nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness throughout the festive season.

This is another FareShare initiative we were happy to support in the run up to Christmas – providing 50,000 of our much loved Cadbury Cake Bars for their operations in the South West – the region where our Ambrosia creamery is based. We have a long-term partnership with FareShare and support their food redistribution efforts all year round. For many people using FareShare services, the food is just the start of them getting support which can help them overcome issues such as isolation or financial difficulty.
A huge thank you to Premier Foods for donating cake bars, alongside some tea donated by Tetley to FareShare South West to help us turn surplus food into more than meals this winter. We all know a cup of tea and cake can be the start of a much-needed chat, and, for many people visiting the charities we support, it can be a gateway to additional support services, too. This support is crucial during the cold winter months when many people who are struggling with loneliness and isolation need community more than ever. We were happy to step forward and donate enough gravy for the 100,000 Christmas meals being provided by this great initiative, part of the King’s Coronation Food Project coordinated by FareShare UK. It’s great to be able to do that little bit more at this special time of year, alongside our long term charity partner FareShare, and we hope everyone involved enjoys their dinner, along with plenty of our famous Bisto gravy. 🎄

This #InternationalVolunteerDay, we're celebrating 376 days volunteered with local causes so far this year. Volunteering allows our colleagues to be a force for good in our communities by giving time and expertise to initiatives linked to food poverty, employability, and the environment. We have a target of reaching 1,000 days volunteered a year by 2030. Here are some highlights from November: ◾ The ESG and Corporate Affairs team spent the day volunteering at The Felix Project, one of FareShare UK’s delivery partners in London. Team members were involved in food preparation and sorting in the warehouse during the morning, then spent the afternoon using their skills to support FareShare’s work on its own ESG reporting framework. ◾ The Procurement team volunteered with Springfield Allotment Community Klub (SACK) in West Yorkshire. SACK strives to be a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive community greenspace. They got involved with clearing overgrown wasteland, which is now ready to be converted into a wildflower meadow for children to go and learn about the flowers and animals that visit the meadow. ◾ Our International team helped at VersoCare in St Albans, which supports different members of the community to become more independent as well as providing help with food. The team was split into groups to process harvest donations from schools, sort the warehouse and learn about how the charity makes a difference.

Our Street Style Sizzler range has launched in Tesco and includes sizzler meal kits in four flavours - Masala Tikka, Shashlik Tikka, Spicy Masala and Tandoori Tikka - which contain a seasoning sachet, sizzler sauce and mango chutney drizzle. There are also separate sauce sachets and roti wraps - all providing a more versatile way to enjoy Indian food with punchy flavours. 😋
