Your incredible generosity will help more children and young people discover the power of 2. We can’t thank you enough for making a difference in their lives! Because of you, young people will gain valuable life skills and build meaningful relationships that will shape their futures. On the last day of the Big Give Christmas Challenge week, we’re sharing one more powerful duo created on our programmes. When Laney, 17, met one of our mentors Colette, she was disengaged from school, struggling with friendships, had lost purpose and did not believe she would complete her GCSEs. Together, Laney and Colette worked on improving Laney’s self-esteem and confidence. They focused on replacing negative self-talk with positive affirmations, which helped Laney become less critical of herself and more patient, boosting her overall confidence. Over time, Laney began to feel calmer about the future and more at ease in her relationships. She understood that it was okay to make mistakes, and that she could always try again if things didn’t go as planned. The support Laney received from Colette was invaluable to her future. Colette made Laney feel comfortable enough to trust her and express herself. Laney even invited Colette to join her when she received her GCSE results. She said, “Colette has been such a big part of me being able to complete my GCSEs.” “Power2 really made me understand things in a different way, made me believe in myself and taught me how to control my emotions.” We have just £2,631 to go to reach our fundraising target by noon today. You can make a difference to young people like Laney who benefited from creating a life-changing duo with Colette to rebuild her confidence by donating today: https://lnkd.in/eeY-VZis Read Laney’s story: https://lnkd.in/eUuqwS2x #ChristmasChallenge #Champions4Children #BigGive

“This is the first time I’ve had support that actually helps and doesn't judge me.” – Reece, 18 Too often young people are denied the essential 1:1 support they need to navigate different aspects of their life. Reece received 1:1 mentoring and created a powerful duo with Karl, one of our dedicated Programme Leads. Before working with Karl, Reece felt that he had to deal with everything in his life alone, including managing responsibilities of being a father and searching for work and housing. Reece was overwhelmed and unsure of how to get the right support. Over the course of their sessions together, Reece and Karl built a strong bond. Karl’s kind nature put Reece at ease and allowed him to express himself freely. Karl encouraged Reece to set goals that aligned with his future aspirations. During their recent trip to the Lake District, Reece and Karl discovered a shared interest of cinematography. This led to Reece creating a video of their adventures in the Lake District, featured below! Through the sessions and activities with Karl, Reece discovered that life was full of possibility. “Reece has improved in his ability to handle situations more calmy and efficiently. He is more proactive when it comes to figuring things out and is more focused on his future,” said Karl. We want more young people to experience a life-changing duo – but we can only do that with your help. Donate today and help empower more young people like Reece by providing them with the essential support of dedicated mentors like Karl. With just 24 hours to go of our Big Give Christmas challenge, there’s still time to have your donation doubled! Your contribution makes a huge difference to young people’s lives: https://lnkd.in/eeY-VZis Read Reece's full story: https://lnkd.in/eNW9eds6 #BigGive #ChristmasChallenge #Champions4Children

There’s just 3 days left in the Big Give Christmas Challenge! So far, we’ve shared inspiring stories from our Teens and Toddlers programme, where young people and toddlers learn from and inspire each other. In the coming days, we’ll share powerful stories of our mentors and young people, who work together to draw out the young person’s individual strengths, skills and aspirations. They then use them to improve wellbeing, confidence and resilience, so the young person can re-engage positively with school, learning and their future. That’s the power of 2 – together, we achieve more. For this week only, your donation will be doubled! Every £1 you give will be matched, doubling its impact. Help provide vital support to young people by donating today: https://lnkd.in/eeY-VZis #BigGive #ChristmasChallenge #Champions4Children

This Big Give Christmas Challenge week, we’re highlighting the incredible power of 2 people coming together to achieve more – just like Lily and Max. Our Teens and Toddlers programme empowers young people to become mentors to a younger child. Through this relationship, teens develop their confidence, self-worth and interpersonal skills, while supporting a toddler's development through play. When Lily, 14, joined our Teens and Toddlers programme, she had low confidence and was struggling to step outside of her comfort zone. Lily was paired with Max who was vibrant and chatty. They laughed a lot together and enjoyed playing games. As their relationship grew, Lily came out of her shell more and even started to make new friends in the group. Lily’s bond with Max inspired her to realise her potential and gave her new-found confidence. Making a difference to Max’s life made her feel good about herself. Lily said, “The programme has really helped boost my confidence and it showed me that I could be a role model to younger children.” This festive season, you can help more young people like Lily find their confidence and make a lasting impact. Your gift will enable young people like Lily and Max to have the tools to succeed. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/eeY-VZis #BigGive #ChristmasChallenge #Champions4Children

The power of 2 can change lives. When two people come together, they can often achieve so much more than they could alone. Take Tia and Eden. On our Teens and Toddlers programme, Tia, 14, formed an incredible bond with her mentee, Eden, who is autistic. At first, Tia isolated herself and would spend the sessions doing some colouring in by herself in the corner. Over time, she started showing an interest in getting to know Eden. Tia recognised that they had things in common, so she began to talk to Eden and ask her questions. One day Eden was very upset and hid behind a curtain. Tia showed nursery staff a technique which can help to regulate autistic children. The technique calmed Eden and afterwards they both sat and read a book together. Throughout their time together, Tia and Eden both inspired one another, and felt happier as a result. Tia said, “I would recommend the programme because it increases the children’s learning, and you can learn in more ways than people notice.” Today is #GivingTuesday and the start of the Big Give Christmas Challenge! For this week only your donations will be doubled. One donation powers 2 futures.
