About us

We are a charity that empowers people of all ages to develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to move forward in education, training and employment. We're passionate about driving inclusion and social mobility. We support young people and adults through person-centred careers information, advice and guidance. We work in schools, in the community and in the criminal justice sector. We train careers information, advice and guidance professionals, and undertake research to influence impactful change. We also support businesses and individuals facing redundancy situations. We believe in evidence-based solutions to make lasting change, and we place the voices of the people we support at the heart of what we do. We’re here to raise aspirations, make things happen, and create better futures.   • Clear your diary! 📢 3rd-4th and 13th-14th of February are our upcoming Careers Leader starting dates. If you are currently, or looking to, lead and develop careers advice programmes in schools, colleges, or other educational provision centres then a Careers Leader certification is perfect for you. With an £1000 bursary from the CEC for public schools who have a Careers Leader complete the training, there’s no reason to not level up your career’s advice delivery!   • As we say goodbye to 2024, here’s a quick reminder of the impact our charity has made to the lives of people over the past 12 months. In 2023/24, Career Connect has: * Provided careers education, information and guidance to 45,795 young people across 214 schools and colleges. * Been responsible for tracking and support services for 41,629 young people across eight local authorities, with substantive support provided to 26,229 young people. * Supported 10,068 adults in the criminal justice system to move towards a new path. * Provided careers training and continuing professional development (CPD) for 227 people across local authorities, schools and professional careers agencies. * Generated an additional social value of £8m That’s a total of 97,719 people benefiting from the professional support services that Career Connect provides.   • Primary schools looking to raise pupil aspirations and develop careers awareness from Key Stage 1 can now achieve the Quality in Careers Award with Career Connect. Career Connect is now an official awarding body for the Quality in Careers Award for Primary Schools – the standard in school careers excellence. By the end of the award, the primary school will have developed its own career-related learning policy and been able to draw on Career Connect’s decades of experience to develop a robust careers strategy and plan future activity.
