About us
All Utilities. One Provider Since its inception, Power On has been driving industry change, championing competition, opening markets for independent connections providers, and helping to define the regulated codes to which the industry now operates. A driving force in electricity for over 18 years, Power On was the first ICP to attain National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) accreditation, first to undertake self-determination, the first to self-approve designs in-house and the first to self-connect and operate on the regional network operator’s distribution systems. Today, Power On is the leading independent connections provider in the UK’s new connections market; with electricity, water, wastewater, fibre, heat, and gas infrastructure, all forming part of our innovative, all utilities, one provider solution. The Power to Deliver Connections Power On is part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group – the leading provider of last-mile multi-utility networks in the UK. Our collective scale, structure, and credentials, as part of a unique utility infrastructure family, represents a degree of experience and capability presently unmatched in the market - offering a competitive and truly independent alternative to regional network operators. We design, deliver, connect, and adopt utility connections on new-build developments throughout the UK. Our expertise matched with our environmentally responsible utility solutions ensure we make the complex simple for our customers time and time again.

Power On have recently donated a range of tools to Tools with a Mission (TWAM). TWAM collects usable tools, refurbishing where necessary, and distributes them across the developing world for those who don’t have access to this equipment. TWAM also provide volunteering opportunities to retirees and opportunities for refuges and people with physical and learning disabilities. Tanya Stinson, Construction Engineer at Power On, said “The team started collecting old tools in July this year. We have donated various tools, including screwdrivers, hedge trimmers and garden forks to name a few. TWAM have three refurbishment centres in the UK and we are installing donation bins at our depots for staff to donate useable tools”.

We enjoyed our time volunteering at Good Hope Farm! Good Hope Farm is a small organic farm which grows vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs. It also offers work experience for adults with learning disabilities and difficulties, where they can engage in outdoor activities, whilst socialising with other people in the local community. The Power On team volunteered to help with a range of tasks on site including: Fixing the tent canopy Varnishing tables and benches Repairing the donation box Installing security cameras Building storage racks for tools Weeding and restoration of pathways Julia Stockwell, Projects Officer at Power On, said “This is the second year that the team have volunteered at Good Hope Farm. It was a chance for everyone to work together on a project they enjoyed in the peaceful countryside. It was great to make a positive impact on the farm.”

With unpredictable weather, comes a risk to infrastructure in high-risk flood areas. In 2020, due to the flood risk to AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane stadium, Power On designed the AFC Wimbledon substation to be equipped with flood risk doors to prevent water damage to the equipment inside. Last month more than 100,000 litres of water had to be pumped out of the stadium, after the River Wandle broke its banks. After the water levels to the stadium dropped, we’re pleased to say the substation room and equipment were protected by these doors with zero sign of water damage. Whilst the stadium experienced some flooding, with damage to the pitch, our electricity supply was unaffected. Anathan Dobson, Design Manager at Power On, said: “The substation was designed with flood risk doors due to its location in a flood risk zone. It is great to see that after four years these bespoke solutions have proven successful and kept our equipment in perfect working order.” If you would like to discuss how we can deliver future-proof utility infrastructure for your development, please contact one of our Power On team: https://lnkd.in/eMnriReq
