On Monday, Pledge Ventures made its London event debut, with a spectacular evening at the Barbican Conservatory, co-hosted with our amazing friends at Headline. It was a privilege to be joined by so many of the people who have helped to shape our journey, and this really drove home the importance of community to the future of Pledge Ventures. To our LPs, portfolio companies, Investment Committee, advisors, Founders Pledge and everyone else who has opened doors for us, advocated for us, or shared their wisdom with us, THANK YOU! It's only with your support that we can realise the potential of Pledge Ventures - this isn't a path that we can chart alone but with your help, it is one that could catalyse much needed innovation and meaningful change at the nexus of Venture Capital and Philanthropy. Today is an exciting day at Headline – a fresh $865M in Growth funding to back later-stage tech companies, complete with a new strategy and team to execute it. The results are in – 2023 was our most impactful year yet! 🌟 129 new members and $502m in pledges, meaning our community has collectively pledged $10 billion to charity to date. 🎉 A record $84m donated to our high-impact recommendations, funding work that is saving lives, scaling climate innovations, and improving AI safety and biosecurity. 🚀 We hosted 29 global events, facilitated nearly $300m in contributions and grants, published major research, grew our team, scaled our operations, and much more. Our 2023 Impact Report celebrates everything we achieved last year. Pledge Ventures is driven by a dual mission, to drive returns for LPs and power the charitable work of Founders Pledge. From the outset, we envisaged a fundamentally different type of VC, one where profit and purpose could co-exist harmoniously. Much of the hard work is still ahead of us but we've come a long way in the last months, and making our first donation to Founders Pledge is an exciting indication that this model can work!
