We've been proudly supporting our community for over 140 years and it's fair to say we've seen some changes over that time. And this month, we ourselves have embarked on a series of changes to keep pace with the expectations of our members, current and future, for the years ahead. Part of that journey is to launch our new on-line savings products, serving member near and far, as well as a refresh of our identity. But don't worry. Following the Bank of England’s decision to reduce Bank Base Rate by 0.25%, we are pleased to share that the Society will be passing on this rate change in full by reducing our mortgage Standard Variable Rate (SVR) from 7.99% to 7.74%. The new SVR rate will take effect from 1 October 2024.

Penrith Building Society has increased the proc fees paid for new mortgage applications and product transfers. Penrith Building Society will now pay brokers 0.45 per cent gross and 0.43 per cent net for new residential and buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage applications. For product transfers, it will pay 0.25 per cent gross and 0.23 per cent net.
