Last night I won Best Factual/Documentary Producer at the AudioUK Production Awards! Incredibly grateful and still totally shocked. Thanks to the Peanut & Crumb team who make the work possible - Jane Gerber, Katie Derham + Sarah Strickland. And the biggest thanks to my exec/manager/all round audio mentor Jack Howson who has been so integral in how I've grown as a producer and supports me throughout every twist and turn. That kind of guidance is a rare and important thing and I hope to offer it to others someday. This award is shared with all the contributors, presenters + mix engineers I've worked with. But a particular mention to the brilliant Tice Cin. Our BBC documentary 'How Much Can You Say?' explored the silence surrounding North London's heroin trade and was such a unique collaboration. It took so much bravery from her and all the contributors and cemented why I think the making and sharing of documentary work matters. Got to also shout out the producers who won alongside me - Anna Sinfield, Emma Barnaby + Talia Augustidis. They've all made work that has hugely inspired me and help make the audio community a lovely thing to be a part of. And then finally a special bonus thanks to Bridey Addison-Child, my first ever audio friend and collaborator. Behind every programme I make there is a stream of supportive messages, last min phone calls and late night pep talks from them. The support of audio pals is something I never take for granted and I think we should celebrate it more!
