Oxfordshire Careers Hub
Education Administration Programs
Working with schools, colleges and employers to support young people in Oxfordshire to find their best next step.
About us
The Oxfordshire Careers Hub is a part of a national scheme that links volunteers from the local business community with schools and colleges to help bridge the gap between education and employment. The aim is to help young people make more informed choices about their future careers and ensure that employers are getting the skills they need from the workforce of tomorrow. This is achieved through our Enterprise Advisers supporting the schools at a strategic level to ensure that young people have meaningful, quality engagements with the world of work. The Local Enterprise Partnership is co-funding the project in Oxfordshire with the national Careers & Enterprise Company, an employer-led organisation set up to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work.

What a inspirational way to finish the year. Yesterday I spent the afternoon with 12 teachers at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as part of our Oxfordshire Careers Hub Teacher Encounters programme. We learnt about what goes on in 4 areas of the hospital and the pathways into them, nursing, radiology, microbiology and pharmacy. All of the departments gave our teachers so much to take away and share with their students in the classroom, through relating what they learnt and saw to the curriculum. What I also took away is there are so many different opportunities for all our young people in the NHS, including apprenticeships for those at 16 who may have struggled with their GCSE's, and graduates who want to focus on a particular area. But what will really stay with me was the people that we met, all so passionate, positive and proud about what they do and so keen to share their experiences. It was all so inspiring, and as you can see from this teachers feedback it wasn't just me that felt that way. 'I nearly exploded with happiness when they let us into the microbiology suite. I teach some of these skills they use in this area and to see them being used was very exciting for me.' Teacher, Activate Learning. Thank you to Shilpa Bhatt for making this happen. We will be back! #inspiration #careers #bestnextstep #nhs #healthcare #learning #apprenticeships Susan Ledgard-Hoile Eleanor Gordon-Martin Aoife Roughneen Fiona Rogers Cat Marin Alison Lyndon Nicola Cannon Jessica Princivalle Mel McAndrew Shanthi Pandit MRSB, fCMgr Darcie Bishop Sinem Arslan Mancar OxLEP Skills Hub Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) The Careers & Enterprise Company Emma Carney Kerry Senatore Richard Byard Sarah M.
