🏪 New measures have come into effect effect that will provide #businesses with better support on #energy issues, helping them to become more #EnergyAware. These include: 🟠 Energy brokers/third-party intermediaries working on small business contracts need to be signed up to a qualifying dispute settlement scheme (QDSS) 🟠 Suppliers need to signpost small business customers to Citizens Advice for enhanced guidance in managing their energy provisions 📽️ Watch for more on how we are protecting non-domestic customers 👇

🔔 Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has announced a comprehensive review of Ofgem’s role, remit, powers and duties. This is to make sure Ofgem is fully equipped to; 🟠Enhance standards 🟠Protect consumers amidst the evolving energy landscape 🟠And support the government’s ambitious energy commitments We look forward to working with Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh on these changes. We will be hosting key stakeholder events over the coming months to ensure all are kept up to date. Follow the link to find out how these changes will take on Great Britain’s energy market and make sure we are equipped to put the rights of consumers above all else. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gAXjeXeF
With cases of poor customer service, collapsed suppliers and forced installation of pre-payment meters, we need to restore faith in energy suppliers and make sure Ofgem, the regulator, is equipped to put the rights of consumers above all else. That’s why Minister Fahnbulleh has announced a major review of Ofgem today. This marks a major step towards repairing Great Britain’s broken energy market, driving innovation and empowering consumers in the net zero transition. Find out more 👇 https://lnkd.in/gAXjeXeF

Ofgem sets the price controls to ensure that monopoly network companies, who run Great Britain’s #gas and #electricity networks, continue to act in the best interests of #energy consumers. In order to set the next price control (RIIO-3) which will run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, the network companies have submitted #Business Plans containing information on the activities that they intend to undertake and their associated forecast costs and outputs. We want to hear your views on any aspect of the network companies’ Business Plans by 10 February 2025 for consideration into our RIIO-3 Final Determinations. This will help us to consider the needs of existing and future consumers and other relevant factors such as the transition to a low carbon #economy. 📧 Please send your response to RIIO3@ofgem.gov.uk as set out in the Call for Evidence ⬇ https://ow.ly/mFe050Utltp

Last week we published the Supplier Performance Report for the period January to June 2024. Energy suppliers play a key role in delivering many of Ofgem's schemes and we expect them to comply with scheme rules. Where suppliers deliver well, they can help drive significant decarbonisation and consumer benefits. Where they don’t follow the rules, we take action, on behalf of consumers.
