Very impressed by the work of Torfaen County Borough Council under the Marmot region. They are redesigning services to enable prevention and a community approach. Also had the honour of meeting Sir Michael Marmot, hopefully we'll work together to create a Marmot Cymru model aligned with the Well-being of Future Generations Act. 21.1% of people in Wales are disabled. Today we mark the UN's #InternationalDayofPersonwithDisabilities to amplify the rights of disabled people.  Wales has adopted the social model of disability - a model that views disability as a result of societal barriers, rather than a person's impairment or difference. Learn more about the model here: https://lnkd.in/eJkCR4Ue   In 2022-23 one in four (25%) disabled people lived in a household in material deprivation. This is more than twice as high as for people who are not disabled (11%).
