As we begin to wind down for the festive season, we've been reflecting on some of our favourite moments from 2024. 🎄 From working with project partners like Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, the Local Government Association and the Vision for Volunteering, to working directly with NAVCA members to codesign our services and membership offer, it's been another great year of collaboration. We've launched our new website, hosted our biggest Annual Conference yet, and done lots of other things to help members and promote the voluntary sector - too many to list in one blog post! Check out our reflections from 2024 on our website now, and if you have a favourite NAVCA moment from this year, let us know in the comments below. https://lnkd.in/eCkVPyTc

We know that voluntary and community organisations have a vital role to play in supporting people into employment at any stage in their lives, due to their important knowledge of local needs and opportunities 🤩 The new Get Britain Working White Paper, aimed at getting more people into employment, presents exciting opportunities for mayoral authorities to tap into this pool of experience and expertise. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, has already recognised this by working with community partners in Greater Manchester as part of the Live Well programme. Local projects such as this make space for voluntary and community organisations to do the work that no one else can: building trust and breaking down barriers to accessing services and support. Local infrastructure organisations provide a vital bridge to a diverse voluntary sector, convening organisations and building partnerships to work with those furthest from public services. NAVCA members look forward to working in partnership with mayoral authorities, enabling voluntary and community organisations to contribute directly to addressing the systemic problems that prevent people from accessing good quality employment. Check out the link below for more information about the Get Britain Working White Paper, and let us know in the comments what you think the #VCSE sector can contribute to boosting skills and employment 💬 https://lnkd.in/eM7kac2d
